Jenny demonstrates how to make a beautiful From the Heart quilt using 5 inch squares of precut fabric (charm packs). For this project, Jenny chose a Lava Batik Solids - Flirt Charm Pack by Anthology for Anthology Fabrics. Other supplies include: Pigma Micron pens, Heat N Bond fusible interfacing, and the Missouri Star Half Heart Template by Missouri Star Quilt Co.
This quick and easy applique project can be hand appliqued or stitched on a sewing machine. We're making it all in pink to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we love the idea of writing encouraging messages on these little heart blocks.

Here in Ontario 🇨🇦, we have an organization called Victoria’s Quilts. The members of this group raise funds, buy fabric, and make quilts for people suffering from Cancer. There is no charge for these quilts. Over the years, I have given them the names of people who could use a quilt. Last year when I underwent a double mastectomy one of our Guild members gave my name and a quilt was donated to me. I used that quilt everyday. The love that came from this quilt was truly amazing.

My daughter was diagnosed with cancer four months ago at the height of the pandemic, when my husband abandoned us, and as I was recovering from a spinal injury. It was the hardest news I ever had to face. Two weeks into her aggressive chemotherapy and radiation her body could no longer tolerate it. Through grace and mercy, God intervened and healed my daughter. She is totally healed from cancer. Thank you Jesus Christ! Amen. A blanket like that would have brought a smile to her face. Thank you Jenny for making a difference by showing and sharing your love of quilting with the hurting around you. God bless you and your amazing family. Thank you on behalf of myself and my daughter juju.

I had breast cancer in 1995 so I have been cancer free for 35 years now. It is so important to know that people around you support you, love you and pray for you. Thank you for bringing awareness to this. It's so important for women to get mammograms. It was the only way they found mine. God bless you. I love you, your family and your videos. Please keep it up.

I don't get mammograms anymore. Studies show that by the time the cancer is seen on the mammogram, it has already spread. It does not save lives. They stopped recommending them in Canada because of this. IMHO, it is just big business. Just like drinking milk and taking calcium for strong bones. Do you know that drinking cow's milk actually contributes to osteoporosis? It is so acidic it actually pulls calcium out of your bones to return your body to an alkaline state. Research it if you don't believe me. Just remember, medicine is big business. They will sell you anything. Do your own research and make your own decisions. Doctors have really hurt me in the past, and I don't allow it anymore. Do your research, ladies!! The solution is a very healthy diet of plant based foods. You would be surprised at how healthy you can be if you stop just doing whatever the dr. says, and stop eating animal products! I recommend, go to dr.mcdougall.com and find out about a healthy vegan diet. Make your own decisions after doing your own research!! Then if you decide to get a mammogram, at least you are informed. Just my two cents worth!!
@eileenmeyers6080
@eileenmeyers6080 3 жыл бұрын
@@petmomful2260 sorry you feel that way. But a mammogram was the only way they found mine! I trust my doctor completely...she has never steered me wrong and always informs me of all risks, benefits, alternatives etc. Please don't mislead women. As to the milk issue...I have never seen any research saying milk was bad for you unless you have an allergy to it. Also other research has shown that a plants only diet is not a healthy one either. I agree that people should do research on anything they are concerned about but don't just look at one study or opinion. And to tell people to ignore their doctor's is very irresponsible in my opinion. I pray you never get breast cancer because of your failure to get a mammogram.

Hi Jenny, I'm working on my 1st quilt, but WOW, your quilt is special. Not only is it beautiful, but it touched me.. I am a double mastectomy survivor 24 years apart from 1st. I plan on making a Tee-Shirt quilt next with Sis's Tees. She passed away last year & I got Dibbies on her shirts. She fought Diabetes & her name was Angel. 😇 I may incorporate Angels, Hearts or Bingo related blocks. Thanks for sharing. I drew inspiration from this project.❤

I love this quilt, everything Jenny says about it and the story she tells at the end of the video. When my darling partner was diagnosed with cancer, I made him a huge quilt. It was filled with so much love for him and making it was also such a big help to me while he was in hospital and it got me through some very long and dark days as I could sew and sew and sew and not dwell on the bad things. He’s well again now, but we use the quilt every day. Thank you Jenny x

I think the same way about a lot of the great video’s I watch on KZfaq, and I see the thumb down. I guess there are some people who are just never really happy or maybe, they’ve not got their glasses on and mistake the thumb direction? Just a little positive thinking on my part there. :)

This made me tear up and cry. I love the quilt, but especially seeing your big heart shine through. In March, just as Covid was starting, I went into cardiac arrest (we still don't know why). I almost died - the only reason I lived was because my husband was home to perform CPR while waiting for the paramedics. While I was recovering, I had no idea that a group of my friends were arranging a gift basket for me. In that basket was a handmade quilt. I cherish that quilt and use it every day. Handmade equals love.

You are not crazy. Every time I make a quilt for a loved one I am thinking about them with every stitch. I believe that energy is transferred into the quilt. Quilts can be very powerful. I am recently divorce and I made myself a "closure quilt". I took all of the scraps that I have kept prior to the divorce and made a string quilt. After I was done, I got rid of all the scraps that were left. I am now starting fresh. Accumulating a new stash of scraps, using fabric I have never used before etc. My only problem now is figuring out what to do with the quilt.

I want to make something for her and she told me she liked bright colors, so I think I'm going to make a pillow for her ASAP and work on a quilt to send to her for when she has the chemo. Just recently I've found a community where so many young girls seem to think faking illness to get IV Ports and such is a fascinating thing (and LET me be clear here that not all these young people are faking, I get that. However, when you go to the lengths of some of these young women who not only leave their IV Ports hanging out of their shirts but talk on social media about nothing else except how sick they are...it makes you wonder just what the blazes is going on(?)...) Take a look on FB, IG, TikTok, Reddit, and KZfaq, you've got pre-teens/teens FAKING illnesses for VIEWS. It's SICK and it's ALSO SAD. I followed a young girl from the state I reside in that did this (illness faking) for THREE or FOUR years. Funny, how after many people (especially those of us that are RN's and doctors, and other medical professionals) starting questioning her "symptoms" and constant ER visits she suddenly STOPPED doing her YT videos abruptly. I'm sorry, but had this young girl (who BTW never finished high school either) put the energy into getting her HS diploma and getting some kind of degree, WOW can you imagine the life she'd be living...and hey, maybe she is trying to do just that right now, I hope so. This young lady's journey began when she starting seemingly idolizing a young 20 somethings woman from Florida who claimed to have several illnesses that required a Feeding Tube, an IV Port, A wheelchair, and other medical accessories along with a Service Dog. Each time this young gal's doctors would TRY to get her to do away with the feeding tube, the IV Port, etc....she balked and flatly refused. She died last year because her feeding tube wrapped itself around her intestines and because she insisted on being given IV opiates while in the hospital, the symptoms she would have most likely endured with the feeding tube cutting the blood supply to her intestines didn't happen due to the fact she couldn't FEEL the pain and when the doctors found out the actual PROBLEM....she was in End Of Life Care...and died within hours. It's sad, but it seems as though this is getting to be something that a lot (not all, and again, there are seriously ill people out there that need our love and attention) young people are doing, and it's scary. I hope to make a couple of these quilts for people that are going through chemo or radiation to brighten their day and to hopefully help them to stay strong during these difficult times they are going through. Sorry for the long rant....but this is just something I've noticed lately. There's another gal that I've found that has grifted almost 35K with a GFM, and can't seem to keep her stories straight. (claims she is losing brain function, needs a cranial surgery due to cranial instability, and ALSO has claimed that her husband was allowed to hold her HEAD during a recent MRI and not only that but her SERVICE DOG was also allowed into the MRI imaging ROOM with her & her husband because he alerted so hundreds of seizures during the MRI scanning process. This young woman seems to come up with a medical malady every time the GFM donations trickle down, WHICH they are doing as a write this!!! Again, there are many, many people who truly need help with donations to a GFM, but WHY I mentioned this is because you need to really do your homework to make sure what these people are telling you is TRUTHFUL, whenever YOU chose to help someone by donating $$MONEY$$ or even your time. It's important that you do this, not just to make sure the person/charity that you're going to donate your hard-earned CASH too, but there's also the side to this that none of us like, that's getting scammed by someone. Things like this should never happen, but they do.

Isn't it amazing that some of us can feel the energy from objects? I am one of the same, and would have been weeping over the quilt.
