This is a wonderful tutorial. I just taught my students how to make zines. I work with students who struggle with writing and motor skills. It is the type of project I can adapt to their skill level and they loved filling their own zine with writing and stickers.

I made a zine today after watching your tutorial. I made it into a birthday card for a friend. It’s small but there is more than enough room to decorate including tucks for journal cards ! Love it 🇺🇸❤️🌵

I love your work and this tutorial. I always like it when you turn your book/or page sideways to write! It adds such interest and I’m starting to do this as well. It is hard to write about myself but I know it would be nice to have a small record of myself. TFS.

Helen, I've been following you for some time, but usually watch you on my TV, so I just give thumbs up, cause you can't type on the tv...lol. I was so excited to see what you're doing here that I made myself look it up on my computer so I could type you a note...I've been making zines for several years now...I have several KZfaq videos on them if you'd be interested to see my style. I have a playlist for them. I'm Ronda Winstead on KZfaq. I really enjoy your channel and am so happy you're branching out into the world of zines!!! I love this little journal... the size is perfect and it's an easy and simplistic - especially if your creative mind is in 'stuck' mode - and just get started. It's also a good way to use up some of those scraps that almost every crafter has laying around, and a place to just jot a positive note to yourself and keep your spirits up during one of those 'down' moments. I think the idea of doing one a month is fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing.

Having lots of trouble getting focused, I have so many projects started but not completed, but this one is very appealing. I am busy now making these cute blank journals and because it is such a small journal I think I will enjoy doing it. Will backtrack to January then hopefully do one for each month. Thank you for this project and all your suggestions you have a very lovely persona and calming voice not to mention those cute dimples. Glad I found your channel.

Some days are harder than others. I have been neglecting checking in with myself. So I want to write a few notes about "how am I doing? in every way. Physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, socially, creatively, and intellectually. I was going to do this in my bullet journal but I think that little journal-zine would be perfect for it. came back to watch this tutorial. Have made my first 1 as practice, hopefully the niece & nephew are coming for a visit for the first time in 3 years, so working out fun crafty projects to do with them. This will be perfect - & we'll turn them into Farm Field Notes zines that they can take home at the end of the trip. gather up some found leaves etc, & write out about what they saw & did each day. What a fun project! I love this! I'm getting my first For the Love of Paper book in the next couple weeks- think it will be great to just have that out to use rather than always going through my big stacks of paper. This is such a brilliant video! Took me back to my first day in art class when I was in school, we had to make these little books and fill them with things about ourselves, almost felt nostalgic. Hi Helen. I was able to make my own mini journal zine. I invited my 4-year-old niece to do hers, and we had so much fun. Thanks for sharing the tutorial.

What a good idea! I’ll make this cute zine with my penpals to get them to know me in an original way. Do you use a standard printer paper of a paper a little sturdier?

Oh wow, how CUTE!! I love the idea of sending cute, thoughtful things as penpals! Great idea! How do you find a penpal? I'd love a creative penpal to write to! Especially internationally - I live in Canada. If anyone is interested, let me know! :)

I'm puzzled about the pages that are folded in - pages that you can't decorate or write on. Do you glue them shut?
