Can you upload video how to add notify function for note app when we set time to alert for important notes? And How to move note position from bottom to top of window? Hello, I'm stuck at 1:35:00... The app runs successfully but I get is a blank white screen in the emulator. A bunch of items in the MainDAO have shown as unresolved references as 2:05:19 in the video (Not sure how the app still runs with this?) I redone the thing twice. The best result I got so far was the blank white screen. Any idea why this is happening?

Well done. There is an improvement point in this application that needs to be taken care of: I would like to add the colors myself to each note and when I want to change something in the note I don't want the color to be changed automatically again unless I want to reassign the color again. Do you think is that something for future improvement on this application?

can u make it when i pin the note, it will pop up in the first row and will go back to its original position when it was unpinned. can you also make a trash icon where it can recover your deleted note? that would help so much.

@@andrewkim2458 @Flora Maxine @Zhe Rui If you only see the query annotation parameters such as id, title, notes etc. in red color, there is no problem. The app will run properly. It is not an app issue. My IDE also shows them in red color.

follow another video where you create a sign up page, make that the mainactivity and rename the mainactivity from this video as notesactivity. then create a button on the signup page that opens the notesactivity

Don't try to code this because it won't run properly for you. I wasted my time last minute in my assignments trying to fix the problem with MainDAO that so many peoples in the comment couldn't work out. And the programmer here seems not to know the answer to it too. DO NOT CODE!!!!!!!!!!

The problem is in MainActivity on lines 57 and 58! Line 57 shoud look like this: if(resultCode == Activity.RESULT_OK){ Line 58 shoud look like this: Notes new_notes = (Notes) data.getSerializableExtra("notes"); And it shoud work now!

this is the best i watch and easy to follow, but at this time 1:35:00, i got some error on mainDAO and the error is: Cannot resolve symbol 'notes' :20, Cannot resolve symbol 'id' :20, Cannot resolve symbol 'notes' :23, Cannot resolve symbol 'title' :23, Cannot resolve symbol 'notes' :23, Cannot resolve symbol 'ID' :23. i dont know how to solve this cuz im just started a few days using android studio.

Hello! Evan, I absolutely loved the explanation, clarity, and step-by-step process. Thank you for encouraging me. I have encountered an error, if I add "public abstract mainDAO();" in RoomDB, then the mainDAO query shows an error that it can't recognize the notes. Even though I searched StackOverflow and made the project again the error is still there. Please tell me a solution. Thank you

Very nice Bro I got one error in MainDAO interface It's showing error on REPLACE.i can't import that androidx.room.etc instead of this in mine shows "Java.nio.charset.CodingErrorAction.REPLACE" and shows error.What to do!?

I had the same issue and it was solved by adding import static android.room.OnConflictStrategy.REPLACE instead of only import (...)

well the note app works. however, after you search the certain note and try to delete it, the toast will only appear while the activity would not refresh itself. only after you exited the activity and go back it, it will disappear

my bad. it does refresh but you have to clear the search bar for the selected note. i guess you can turn this into a feature? like you can have one last look at your note after you deleted it?

one of the issue which was solved is the app does not refresh after deleting/pin after using the search bar i just added these lines at the delete and pin part after notesListAdapter.notifyDataSetChanged(); which is finish(); overridePendingTransition(0, 0); startActivity(getIntent()); overridePendingTransition(0, 0);

Check if you have added "autogenerate=true" in Notes model. Also check if you have initialized the Notes class in that activity properly.

in MainActivity should be: if(resultCode == Activity.RESULT_OK){ Notes new_notes = (Notes) data.getSerializableExtra("note"); database.mainDAO().insert(new_notes); notes.clear(); notes.addAll(database.mainDAO().getAll()); notesListAdapter.notifyDataSetChanged(); } because we intent.putExtra("note", notes); name: note not notes and it should show notes normally .. sorry my English isn't very good😅.
