In this video, I reveal a design that could not be implemented in my previous project.
It is possible to make a beautiful pipe using very simple materials.
The materials I needed were a fresh walnut branch and a previously dried piece of beech tree branch, that's all.
I hope you enjoy watching
If you liked this video, you can also watch my other pipe making video.

I'm curious about how long you let your stem blank dry before you felt it was ready. It turned out beautifully.

thanks for watching. I did the drying process with a heater. I waited a day for this. Naturally, it takes about a week. If you peel off the bark of the branch, it can dry in a shorter time.

@@BROTHER_WOOD08 I actually didn't expect it to be such a short wait, that's reassuring. Did you notice any loosening at the joining point after a while, or has it held up well over time?

Thanks for the comment. Actually, I don't know the correct name of the tree I used in this video. It may be a type of witch tree. There are countless trees in nature that can be used for this purpose. I am also thinking of trying different trees for newer designs in the future.

What kinds of tree branches have these natural sort of hollows through them for the stem? I've unexpectedly become very interested in this and was curious for insight

I used fresh walnut tree branches. But this gap is also present in the dogwood tree. I think there is this gap in other trees too. There are wider gaps, especially in fresh branches.

@@labelplume841 I used walnut tree branches. The dogwood tree also has the same feature. Other trees may also have the same structure. But don't worry if you can't find any trees. You can pre-drill and shape a fresh branch. will give the same result.

Hi, congratulations on the nice work!! I really like your creation! I wanted to ask you a question. How did you make the hole in the suction pipe? It's long and curved and I can't tell from the video. Do you work it when folded or when it is straight? Thank you for this nice craft video.
@BROTHER_WOOD08
@BROTHER_WOOD08 5 ай бұрын
Thank you for your kind comment. The holes in the suction pipe are caused by the structure of the tree I used. There is a membranous structure inside the branch. I can shape it first and then easily open an airway with the help of a wooden skewer. A fresh walnut tree branch is very suitable for this job. It does not require any further action. There are not only walnut trees but also other tree branches with similar features.

@@BROTHER_WOOD08 Magnificent!! I didn't know they could be punctured so easily!! I was already trying to figure out how to make through holes!! I ask you one last thing, do you leave them in an arched fold for a long time before working them to make the joint? Thank you for answering me! Hope to see more of your videos soon. You have good manual skills and seeing what you make and how you make it makes you want to try!! Thanks again!

@@MarcoJena83 Thank you... Yes, I wait for the piece to set up and the shape to become permanent before putting the pieces together. If you don't want to wait, you can dry it in front of an electric heater. Then all I have to do is carve the pieces to fit together. If you want, you can apply beeswax between the pieces to stop air passage. so they can be more robust.

@@microstrader Yes, there is no need for this. However, you can achieve the same result if you pre-drill and shape a tree that is not yet dry.

Thanks for the comment. Of course, there are other trees you can use. I recently discovered that the dogwood tree has the same feature. There must be other trees. There is enough space, especially in newly grown branches. However, if you cannot find it, you can pre-drill and shape a fresh branch. This is also a way to try.

In the USA there is a very lightwood tree called Catalpa. Very easy to carve, almost like balsa, & it's branches, even it's trunk, are always hollow at the pith. Grows very fast, dunno if it's good to smoke through though.

@@BROTHER_WOOD08instead of pre drilling you can also use red hot wire or bike spoke to burn through green branch core. This way you can even work with curved pieces as the wire will guide itself through the soft part of the wood.
