I agree. A while back, I found this way to convert subtitles to basic text, but you still can’t edit it in fusion Thankfully I found this method and it has already saved me hours of unnecessary work I think there’s an even better way now

@@CraftedCroix I'm not sure if it's only available in studio but when using the auto generated subtitles via the "Create Subtitles from Audio" option in the cut page you can then click on any of the subtitles and open the inspector where you can edit the text, customize the font/color/size etc, and change the start and end time if it's not synced well. It does a really good job overall and I honestly haven't had much fixing to do.

Yeah that would take a while! However, the Descript free plan limits you to one hour There’s a newer method called snap captions you may want to try

Hey you can export just audio for faster render just uncheck export video or scroll right on presets until you see audio only. Thank you the script!

Is it just me or does game audio interfere with the subtitles causing word to be out of order and almost impossible to correct it?

I downloaded it on my macOS Catalina and the .command file did not open due to it bing from an "unidentified developer." I was finally able to run the .command file after going to Settings > privacy&security> scrolled down to security section and clicked on "open anyway." A script ran for a second but in my case the ResolveLauncher did not pop up like in 4:01. Anyone got through this issue somehow?

I’ve noticed some bugs with the script when it comes to rendering and fusion, so it’s best to just use the script when you need to convert the subtitles. Otherwise, just launch davinci resolve like normal

It might be a false positive, but if you don’t trust it, then you don’t have to use it However, there are a couple better alternatives such as orson lord’s one or auto subs

Just wondering; I make videos with my friends and they all have different colored subtitles. Is this an effective method to subtitle things with multiple speakers, and if you need to distinguish those speakers separately? I've seen people use auto-subtitling for just one speaker with clear audio, but are you able to say if it's effective otherwise?

A bit late but ill still attempt to answer your question. It definitely wouldn't be perfect, and you might need to change it a bit but it would definitely be a lot faster than doing all of them manually.

You don’t need to buy the studio version of resolve for it You can use the part of this video with descript to get the srt file for subtitles for free

Hi you can just export audio In the render page, scroll all the way to the right on the export options and you should see audio only Let me know if this works!

For me, descript gives me 60 minutes, but as many exports as I’d like. 60 minutes is quite a bit if you think about. If you have an extra email or 2, you could sign up and get 60 more minutes
