Wow! You're an artist! This is the video I have been searching for! I am going to bend a 3/4 copper tube around a 6 inch rocket stove pipe connected to a radiator and fan for heat in my small garage. I'm a working class dude trying to do this on the cheap so after paying $230 canadian for the tube there was no way that I'm gonna to Jack it up trying to bend it and this video provides the best technique that I have seen Thank you sir for this video! I will post later on about how it worked out for me...Cheers Amigo!

Brass to copper Silver solder!!!! Also Brass to stainless steel. Lower melting point! Better flow! I really want to come and teach you to solder.Soft solder and hard solder! Sorry bit of history,I am a coded pipe welder,60 yrs old now.And have done my fair share of brazing, nickel brazing and silver soldering. Might sound more expensive,"Silver"! its not! get your part hot, watch the flux!! when you see the flux clean the metal, then! add your solder, silver solder and or brazing rod.Not before!! Part must be all around hot, when you add your fillerit just shoots round!Pull your flame straight away! If you get your flux/Part too hot its works the other way,it burns!?? not clean! and it will leak! Hope this helps?Really like what you are doing! Had a look at your history you have come a long way! Congratulations!!

I have an idea for your leaking flared ends. Before flaring the tubing, get a cotter pin and a piece of fine sandpaper, stick the sandpaper inside the cotter pin and wind it around sand side out. Use a drill and clean off the seam before flaring.

May also work for other types of piping like exhaust or propane gas pipes

It would seem like it might be easier to move the fixed end of the pipe. Similar to those extension cord reels, however instead of having a 4-5" width only the width of the tubing. Use a large wheel or long handle to turn the pipe, and have it pull from your tubing. Though not sure how wide you want to make them. Alternative, there is probably some way of setting the initial angle at the start of the bend if you want to make a vertical stack. Very interesting, especially the comments you showed.

I forgot to add that your video was filmed very good your voice was really clear and the camera was positioned very well. Just a couple of questions, Do you leave the ends open when you freeze? And I'm going to guess please tell me if I'm wrong, you're probably set up with all your tools in place ready to go then pull the tube out of the freezer and then boom it's Go time! or do you let things soften up a bit then go?

I always use seamless pipe NOBOX7 which is way better then seamed pipe. Also using Nickel Copper pipe material 90/10 you can bend with your hands without using soap water. That is for pipe 3/16 and one quarter inch used for break line in cars. The line comes in larger sizes too. Peace vf

Try dipping the end of the tubing in dish soap and crimp slowly.

Hi! Great video, thanks! I just wanted to ask - what percentage of soap you put into water (weight or parts compared to quantity of water)? Or you haven't experimented with it yet?

1st) highly unlikely you purchased passivated (seamed) SS tubing. 2nd) the mere action of flaring the tubing negated any passivation at that joint. 3rd) each and every tack weld also would ruin any passive state even though you purged. Your best bet would have been to use seamless SS tubing and quality (Parker or Swagelok) ferruled compression fittings. Anyway, love what you do and your unpolished results as opposed to endless film editing showing a perfectly executed test.
