I came across your videos by being interested in cockney. I am trying to get my head around those people who live on this funny island that you call your home. Their accents, the stuff they say, how they say it and the really strange Boris Johnsons they hord. Your channel is by far one of the best channels i ever came across. Good work, thank you trying to teach me your language.

I fell in love with these amazing videos. ❤️ Super easy explanations, and it really makes sense to try to get and remember the meaning of a preposition at first and then just try them out with different verbs. And speaking about your drawings, they are a piece of art ! And it so fun when you have some phrasal verbs with the word 'dance'. Your moves are adorable ! Btw, my perfect date is just walking around the city, eating out in some lovely place and just talk about everything.

I came across your videos thanks to other English learners. More or less a year ago (I don't remember exactly) I watched a Tom's video (ESD) in which he introduced other helpful English teachers present on KZfaq. Reading the comments, many people wrote: "Papa English, you've forgot Papa, he's great, he's the best ...", getting many likes. So I looked for you and watched some videos: you came off as so brilliant, amazing, nice and fun English teacher and I thought "Yeah 👌, this guy is definitely my kind of Teacher" 👍 Anyway.... I always make a great effort with the phrasal verbs ..... I can't memorize most of them 😞

English is all stupid and therefore weird, can you imagine, one can say the same thing by using so many different phrasal verbs, for instance: I came across/ ran into / bumped into my friend yesterday. And there's more, phrasal verbs are just there to make our language learning journey even more complicated than it already is, that's weird! But many thanks to you Papa you're marking the whole process so easy to digest.

To go up to > To approach To ask out > To ask to meet in a romantic way. To come across > 1. To meet someone/ To find something by chance. 2. The impression that you give someone about yourself. To come off (as) > The impression that you give someone about yourself. To give off > To give a general impression about yourself. Similar to emanate. To butt in > To interrupt. To step in > To intervene and stop something bad. To stick your nose in > To include yourself in a situation which isn't your business. To come away with > The feeling you leave a situation with. To run into/ To bump into > To meet someone by chance.

That's extremeley useful video! Thank you so much Papa English! 1. Ooh yes, I'd love to go out with you 😍 [It depends. With someone that I've been with him for long time, doesn't matter the place. Everywhere is idyllic for me (Oooh my gosh, I am so romantic sometimes 🧐) for a first date the ideal place it would me to go somewhere close to the beach maybe for a coffee.] 2. I came across your videos when youtube recommend you on my videos, because I used to wach plethora videos for learning English. When we want to say for someone that he gets envolved always in situtations where it's none of his business. What sounds more correct? He sticks his nose in everywhere or he sticks his nose in everything.

At school I was never taught how phrasal verbs actually work (their aspectual character 01:08). Instead the focus was unfortunately placed on learning their meaning by heart, which made the whole learning process much more difficult. You, on the contrary, don't only explain them shortly and effectively, but are also able to keep my attention by making great use of your creative skills (drawing, voice imitation, a little bit of storytelling to introduce examples). I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's pleasant to follow your lessons. Schools need more motivated, motivating teachers like you, Aly. Keep it up! PS: See that last phrasal verb? Totally nailed it 😂

William doing Papa's homework! 1. What did she say? What's your perfect idea about a perfect date? A: Ehm I never came across any such person to compare with, to date with. So I don't have any idea. From the films, I can pretty much say that either she's gonna fall on her head backwards, or stretch out her hands to give me a tight slap. Wrong girl I guess... 😶 2. How did you come across my videos? A: I was acting funny, searching websites and stuff to improve my English. Acting funny, really? Yeah 'cause I had my Physics exam which has nothing to do with English. Thooooough the language of the paper was English 🤔... Feel free to correct me, I am not native speaker and I do wanna sound natural when I speak. Thank you! :)
