1. Agree with the breakup (gives sense of belonging) 2. Ask him to clarify/define what he means (ex: what do you mean by ‘overwhelmed?’) this helps him discharge negative emotions and feel lighter) 3. Set boundaries as soon as you see behavior you disagree with. This lets him know he can’t mess with you and has to take you seriously.

Can you say that "You were right" after basically having begged first? Currently in limited no contact due to the apartment and he said he had starting losing interest/feelings couple of months before breaking up. To this date, I do not know exactly what bothered him, I can only assume.

Good afternoon couch,i have been dating this man age 52,based in Germany for over a year now. We have been talking more on phone because he's far from me. He acts nice and keeps telling me,he will never regret anything if we didn't't end up together. Recently,he stopped picking my calls nor reply my messages. Is it difficult to respect that fact? Very often people are focused on their own needs, what feels right for them, that they forget about respecting other person's needs. But you can not sustain a relationship without mutual respect. If a man do not want to talk to you - he needs space and time for himself. No pressure from your side will change that. All you can do is back off and accept the new reality. And after that shift your focus on how to fill the void inyourself with things, people, activities, that will generate energy and refill you untill you become your own energy generator. And when your inner flame ignites and start shine within you, everything starts to change in the direction you truely need. In authentic direction. With or without him, it will feel right.

From what you said I can see that you have no respect for his decisions. You do not own a man, he is a free person with a right to choose a person for his life. A person, who will respect him, will understand his needs and will be self sufficiant, as all these are traits of a mature and healthy person. Need to control, revenge, suppress someone comes from immaturity and emotional traumas. In stead of focusing on this man - work on yourself to become emotionally mature, self-sufficiant, compationate and respectful woman. And then you will attract a right man for you in your life.
