Richard Fisher, KI6SN, shows viewers how to make a loop antenna for the U.S. AM broadcast band that can improve station reception - even when using a crummy transistor radio. Let the BCB DX'ing begin.

Great work. I "eBayed" a table radio recently mainly for the BCB. It receives a lot better than most really cheap AM transistor radios. This loop is my next project - thanks and 73 KD4AFP.

Thanks for telling us the value of the capacitor. I've been looking everywhere and you are the only one to mention it.

I made one of these by cutting a 4" inch section from a 5-gallon plastic container and wound with 25 turns of wire and it worked great. To make the base, I screwed 4 short wooden legs made from a 1" dowel rod into the plastic form to keep it from rolling on the table.
