whenever recommending someone the dramione fic, 'manacled' by senlinyu, i always preface it that you need to make it to chapter 25 - the flashbacks - for things to piece themselves together. the plot twist makes all the difference, and on my second read -through this past november, the flashbacks really hit me so much stronger (probably because i wasn't in so much despair reading it like i was the first time). since then, i've always wanted to vid it. and yes, this song is from senlinyu's official playlist!
this edit follows - or at least, i tried! - the flashbacks sequence and i tried to squeeze in some of my favourite bits (not everything could make it, obviously). all these chapters are page turners, and the parallels from the previous chapters is... chefs kiss. it is so, so good.
for the casting, i'm ngl this was a DOOZY. i love tom as draco - probably my new draco - and the last few scenes of tbosas were very early days manacled for me. he's not entirely perfect but! sometimes we gotta make the blondes work. as for hermione oh my GOD what a process. but i settled on medalion rahimi for this specific project (with her 10 usable scenes, lol). a BIG shout-out to ‪@Bellsilili‬ for all her help with this fancast & footage 🖤
ALSO! as senlinyu looks to publish a new book - a sort of reimagined manacled - i just wanted to say how EXCITED i am! i absolutely love her work, and know that this book is going to be incredible. and hey, ever since fma:b, i love alchemy, lol. cannot wait to vid them in the future.
anyways i lost this project when i had 10s left so this has been... a labour of love to say the least. i'm not entirely?? happy with it but man it just needs to get out there into the world, lol.
