I'm afraid not much has changed since then! We still don't have fabric capabilities and can't make umbrella components with our equipment, it's very specialized stuff haha

The first time saw this video was in awe! (Still am btw) But revisiting the kingsman 2 made me realise that the umbrella is actually more of a 1 way mirror type situation... So i propose that if we were to use a more malleable material, something like what nasa uses for it's metal origami, it would give us vision throughout the umbrella!

Just remembered this project, maybe my favorite ever... If you revisited it and made it breach loading, you could rig up a cylinder-type magazine with different types of projectiles, and it could shoot multiple times per reload

What did you guys think!? Worked really hard on this one -- just like a classic Hacksmith video! I did all the design, build, the majority of the filming, and edited it all myself -- all in all it took a few hundred hours to produce this video -- really hope you like it! I wish every video could be this good, but there's just not enough time to produce one of these every week! PS: What did you think of our new Make it Real trailer? Did you recognize all the projects featured in it!? If not, don't forget to check out our Make it Real series playlist! ALSO -- a thin layer of kevlar doesn't make something bulletproof -- think how thick bullet proof vests are! While it MIGHT be possible to make it actually bulletproof, it would become super heavy and bulky!

The new Make it Real opener thing is cool. Loved the umbrella also. Was fairy surprised at how well it all kinda fit into a general umbrella shape still. Good work dudes.

theres a curtain thats very thick that you can use for bulletproof up to 9mm or something but thats really not even close to practical because of its sheer weight. great project btw

it is made out of fiber glass or metal depending on which version you get... it is meant for self defense at it is called the unbreakable umbrella. your welcome!
