A few years ago I worked at a machineshop and had the opportunity to make my very own Wolverine claws. Enjoy!

This guy is probably the closest thing to a real life super hero. Physically fit, strong, and agile, and a genius engineer. Also Ik it's unlikely that Hacksmith will see this, but it would be super cool if he made retractable and extendable wolverine claws.

Yep! Good idea -- these were slightly rushed - I only had one day in the machine shop to do them! I was there 11AM Sunday until 7AM Monday! If I were to make them again there's definitely quite a few things I would redesign to make them better. I had a really cool idea on how to make them spark...

Very interesting to see how all of this started! And I was wondering- what are your thoughts on the claws in 2021? Do you think they're still good as is or would you revisit them in the future to improve them in any way?

During the machining of the claws they had to be held down otherwise you could not machine them, so there was a hole to hold it there, then later we filled it in using the TIG welder!

Design took a few hours, came in to the machineshop sunday morning at 10AM... worked on them straight through to 8AM Monday morning -- halloween was that week so I had to finish them then!

I'd kill to win a pair of those claws. Wolverine has been my favorite hero since I first saw X-men. You used a TIG Welder! :)

They are very expensive to make as a one off -- it's $50-100 for material waterjet cut, 20 hours of labour + machine time ($250+), and another $100 for a small batch of nickle plating... there's a reason I don't sell them =(

the welder that was used is the homemade transformer that was rewrapped on a previous video that was made or a microwave transformer.

looking nice, but they seem dangerous for the wielder, too. without modifications i wouldnt use it for a real cutting test.
