I was thinking the same thing! Get a drone/helicopter with thermal scan. Anyone alive will be picked up. But strange how sniffer dogs can't find him either. I have heard from a friend of Jay’s mum that he had been given £30,000 of drugs to sell. He used the drugs and did not have the money to pay the dealers. So I suspect Jay is either in hiding or the dealers have him and will keep him until the debt is paid.

And didn't feel comfortable stopping. Last summer in Hot Springs AR, on one of the hottest afternoons, temps in the upper 90's, heat indexes in the triple digits, on the Martin Luther King expressway, I saw a black guy walking on the shoulder with a hard hat in his hand, and Cars just zooming past him, not one of which even slowed down. I pulled to the shoulder fully disgusted with my fellow humans. It took a minute for me to hit the shoulder and stop. I sat waiting til he realized I was waiting on him, so he jogged to my car. As he opened the door he said, "You are the Answer to My Prayers" turns out this young man had a baby on the way, and was either walking or hitching to and from, (most usually from, as he had a ride in the mornings with someone who passed his job on the way to their own, but afternoons was different. Here the local stations had a Heat Advisory out, and this guy carrying his hard hat, out in the full sun during the hottest part of the day and I saw at least 10-20 cars pass him without even slowing. He'd been on the highway long enough for HUNDREDS of cars to pass him, and I was the only one to hit the brakes. Jesus is surely disappointed in them. I have such respect for that young man, I know so many that use not having a car, or a legal car as an excuse to not work at all. This is the 2nd young man I gave a ride to that was walking if they had to. To town to a job and home again. One during a cold rain, the other during extremely dangerous temperatures. And I've stopped for many! And will continue to do so, trusting our Lord Jesus to tell me when I shouldn't! I will continue

This aspect of the story is interesting. I think it likely that this woman is an accurate witness but that the person she encountered may have not been Jay Slater. If it were someone else of similar appearance who was 'provided' to make the scenario plausible then all bets are off.
