I would suggest either cutting from vinyl (but you'll want to make it as big as you can as those words around the edge will be quite tricky to weed - I should have used a much simpler font to make it easier!) or do it as a "print then cut" so it could go into a photo frame. To do that, place a white square or rectangle the size of your photo frame behind all your layers, center your heart onto the rectangle with the Align tool, then select all the layers (including the rectangle) and click the "Flatten" button (it's down the bottom of the layers panel, next to Slice/Weld/etc). This turns it into a "Print then Cut" image and your Cricut will cut around the edge of the rectangle so that it will perfectly fit into your frame :)

Yes, it will make it so much easier to get the letters close to each other :)

I think with the font I used you would need to cut it quite big to make it easier to weed. If you were going to frame the design then you could put a white square behind it, flatten all the layers together and then use print-and-cut so it would print all the words rather than try to cut them?

I think that would work well! If you are going to cut the outside words then I suggest a simpler font than the one I used so make it easier to weed and transfer the tiny letters.

I think if you put a bit more time and care into it than I did, and also if you used a more solid font that wasn't a script font (maybe Montserrat or Raleway which are free to download online) then you could match the outline of the original heart a little better :)

You would weed away the vinyl outside of the letters, to leave the letters behind. I will be doing an updated version of this video early next year and will include a section of weeding the design :)

It will cut separately but if you cut it from vinyl (either adhesive vinyl or heat transfer vinyl) then it can be placed onto your project quite easily with transfer tape (adhesive vinyl) or with HTV it has the backing left on it so you can move all the words/letters together. You could use it on a t-shirt/hoody/glass frame/etc. If you use a script font for the small words like I did then I recommend making it as big as you can as those letters will be hard to weed! :D

It's a Design Space feature so it's not machine-specific. It's only on the computer version of Design Space though, not the mobile app so you can't use it on mobiles/tablets.

It depends what you are putting it on :) If you are using script font letters for the outside like I did, make it as big as possible as otherwise they will be hard to weed. This type of design would work well for a tote bag or t-shirt/hoodie but not very well for something small like a mug.

I used a bit of a silly font really for the outside as it will be hard to weed!! If it was made big though, for a bag or perhaps a shirt then it should be fine. If you are using heat transfer vinyl/HTV/iron-on then don't forget to mirror your design before cutting.

Double-click onto the new word to open the text box back up so you can type a different word instead.

Click on the heart layer and then press delete on your keyboard to remove it. Or if you just want to hide it so that it doesn't cut then click the "eye" icon on that layer in the layers panel.

Check the size of your heart is smaller than the maximum size that your Cricut machine can cut. You get that error if the design is larger than the Cricut mats as it can't cut it out that size.

I'm not sure, I think it should be available on Macs as long as you are using the desktop version of Design Space, not the mobile app. Perhaps try reaching out to Cricut support to ask them why you don't have it. It only appears for text, not images, so make sure you haven't selected a image layer. It also only works if you haven't Welded the text yet. Once you have Welded, the curve button doesn't appear any more.

@@CraftWithSarah I've noticed that sometimes curve disappears for certain fonts.

I don't think you can curved letters on iPad or phones, that features is only on desktops :(

@@mamag3867 I use a desktop so I don't know much about laptops, sorry :( I would stay away from Chromebooks though as I think they can only run the mobile version of Design Space and not the full desktop version.

I think it would take a long time to do this with song lyrics if you wanted to fill in the heart with all the words. There are free websites you can use to generate shapes from song lyrics, try searching in Google. I will add this to my list of ideas for future videos :)

Yes I'm sure you could do that, but you would need to select Writing fonts when doing the letters.

As in the words would form the infinity symbol? I would try looking for an infinity symbol in Cricut Access, or find a SVG online, and use that as a guide on how to position the words.
