Hi. Good question. I hand paint my design on to the clay top using acrylic paint. Once the paint dries I seal it with translucent Sculpey Bake and Bond.

Ok, so it took me a few days of trying to figure out how to wrap consistently. The hand technique and tension you use is quite important, especially considering the polymer is slippery and so is the mini paracord wrap I’m using. It’s easy and quick if you just stick with it and get past the learning curve. It took me just as long to get the launch technique right. All that aside, once you “get it” it’s a VERY satisfying hobby. I love that I can make my own and modify them by shape and adornments. I’m so impressed that I think I’ll start casting from the Britannia metal as some of his other vids show. I would REALLY love to have some that spark when fighting. Might have to suck it up and pay for a real set from Japan to get that since they’re cast with iron. I’ve seen a dinosaur set floating around the webs that is available and inexpensive. I’d love to find some vintage ones from Japan though. Anyway, great job again and thanks a million for this post and your others related to Beigoma. Good stuff! 👍🏻

Yes, paracord is tough to use but, it does give a nice launch. You are correct. These are just working replicas. I made these so everyone who has access to clay could try out the game of beigoma... it's quite expensive to get real beigoma in the states with air shipping being unavailable from Japan to America.
