I know I’m watching this pretty late but it turns out that I’ve been practicing your recommended way the whole time. I’ve always practiced with the quiver on. Since I got new arrows since the ones I’ve had were under spines for the weight I was pulling. This is something I’ve never thought of.

Love your videos. Try mounting your quiver "upside down" sometime. That puts your quiver weight below your grip, instead of at the top of your bow. Way more stable. Why are quivers mounted with the weight, FOC, and housing at the top of the bow?

Do you think a bow that is 30 degrees shoots any different then the same bow at 70 degrees? Not the weather but the actual bow temp.

How much does it cost to get the bow tune up each time? These built for accuracy bows seems to requires more fiddling with comparing with the good old fashion recurve. If only we all have the luxury to have on demand bow tech. Also every 3 months I have to shell out $75-100 to tube the bow. Damm that’s like $400 a year on top of the $2000-$3000 rig.

How’d you get started working on bows and learning so much? Were you working at an archery shop or DIY first? I ask because I am self taught (mostly by videos like yours) but would like some actual hands on experience as well to really know what I’m doing with someone that has that knowledge and gear, like a bow press. More or less, I’d like to be able to work on my bow and help others when needed while confidently knowing how to do so. How would you recommend I start getting some of that experience? Thanks and love your videos.

I have been around the sport for almost 20 years so I picked a lot of things up along the way. But when I started working at the shop is when I really learned the concepts behind the way different bows tune and how to work on them. Definitely not easy to learn on your own. I'm very fortunate to have some of the best in the business teach me.

Use 86 pounds for deer and elk to run a really strong arrow, which means it’s heavy because anything strong sill have at least a titanium insert and outsert. When you add that much mass to an arrow it drops a little more, so what’s that solution especially for us 7 pin western guys? Increase draw weight or draw length. Since you don’t wanna change draw length then hit the gym and shoot really arrows. Stop sticking big game with toothpicks that don’t work every single time, or break that’s what’s just silly

Why is it silly to pull 86 lbs for deer and elk? Aren't you pulling 70? 40 would get the job done, so who are you say?
@InsideOutPrecision
@InsideOutPrecision 5 жыл бұрын
It's just Overkill in my opinion. If 40 gets the job done, no need to wear your shoulder out pulling 90!
@dgriswold93
@dgriswold93 5 жыл бұрын
My point was just that 70 is overkill as well. Most of the guys accusing others of being “silly” as you put it, are in the same exact boat!
@InsideOutPrecision

@@dgriswold93 yeah I guess whatever you can pull comfortably is what you should shoot. I can pull 70 all day without getting tired so it's manageable. Maybe the guy who was pulling 86 can too🤷🏻‍♂️
