Taskmaster

Жыл бұрын

The contestants are tasked with making the biggest beer mat house. But, of course, there's a twist. Whilst building their beer mat house, the contestants must ring the door bell in exactly one minute.Then after 58 seconds. Then after 56 seconds and so un until they reach zero seconds. As expected, chaos ensues.

In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

Why would they? The wind would certainly knock down their structure. The real trick is to simply let the clock run out and keep constructing until you're happy, then go ring the bell and restart the timer. You're only disqualified after missing two buzzes, after all :)

@wyterabitt2149 Жыл бұрын
Or just don't do it all. You only make a mistake with timing if you try and do it and it's the wrong time. If you never do it, you never actually make a mistake with timing.

I think I've said this every time this task appears on this channel, but normally when one contestant's attempt is kept for last on their own, it's usually because it's either an incredible success, or a catastrophic failure. Johnny Vegas managed to do one that's somehow both at the same time.

My hot take when it comes to this task; THIS is the most tragic moment in all of Taskmaster history, surpassing even Joe Wilkinson's potato throw. Johnny's beermat house is the #1 spot for me. He is genuinely begging for a bonus point and the look on his face when Greg says no, after all his fellow contestants were pushing for a bonus point for Johnny. is one of disbelief and defeat. "Seriously?"
@jessehammer123
@jessehammer123 Жыл бұрын
I agree. I think Joe Wilkinson’s potato throw, though tragic, benefited from being the first such moment in TM history. It made an impression on people that I’m not saying is undeserved, but I am saying I think Johnny deserves more.
@travis303
@travis303 Жыл бұрын
I have a hard time still putting this on top of the potato throw. Remember, Joe was literally on his hands and knees crawling to the Taskmaster begging to be allowed to keep his points, and his fellow contestants callously said "no" when given the option to be allowed to keep after arguing in front of him he should be allowed to keep them. Such backstabbery.

@@TaskmasterMN I still remember how I felt when Joe said "Please don't take this away from me." Yeah, they're one and two for sure, or maybe 1 and 1A, that Joe moment was pretty tough. I think what makes the Joe throw slightly worse is that unlike in this case, the contestants were given the option of voting to allow Joe to keep his points. Greg didn't overrule the two who voted to allow Joe to keep them, it was majority vote and 2-2 tie didn't include a majority. it was easy for the other contestants in Series 10 to fight for Johnny, but the contestants "fought" for Joe, and Greg gave them a chance to put those convictions to the test, and two of them didn't live up to the talk. They were "all rim and bounced out" so to speak :p
