What type of communication is used between phone and the plugin? Bluetooth? No pairing needed?

@@KremerFPV Yep. So it's worth mention of course that Bluetooth must be enabled in order to use it.

I like this a lot, if I were flying regularly I'd consider upgrading to that charger with those plugin's, I'm guessing the biggest market is racers & people using drones in their job, where it's vital that they know the health of their packs.

To me it seems like more things to keep up with. I use a cellmeter 8. Simple, 1 part for all batteries up to 6s and it’s backlit. For the price why not get the isdt battgo or the toolkit checker?

Don't get me wrong, I love the innovation ISDT is coming up with but IMO this is some serious overkill! As a freestyler I'm constantly wrecking batteries, so they are more a consumable than a component. I also imagine it would cost a fair bit to have one of these for every one of my packs. I like the idea of the plugin slowly discharging the battery back to storage voltage, but this would only be needed if you charged them but didn't fly. Honestly, I'd just leave them fully charged a few days then fly because the extra charge/discharge cycles also degrade the battery over time.

Totally agre. Managing batteries from phone will not make my life easier at all. Battery does not have a unique ID, so there's a possibility to mismatch devices. If you have a lot of similar batteries than it's even harder to find out which one of them you want to pick. I land when voltage hits 3.5v per cell and charging to 3.8 takes from 10 seconds to few minutes.Keeping them during winter is easy as well, just charge them to storage voltage once in 3-4 months and it will be fine.

Haha I have battery's that have been fully charged for weeks... I mainly fly 4s so I just buy a 3 pack from rdq for 50-60$ when my Batts get crappy

Depends on what you fly. If you're flying 700 size helis, or large aerobatic planes where you have a pair of £80 5000mAh 6S packs it's worth the investment to keep an eye on the packs and track their health. Doesn't take many sets of those before you're looking at £500+ in batteries. And when you fly a bunch of different models, you quickly end up with lots of different size and spec of pack. A setup that means you can make life easier for your expensive packs and make sure they're always charged at the right rate is nice to have.

what power supply are you using ?? I have tryed to power mine off 3 differant 'laptop' (switching) power supply. but the screen goes crazy, and just keeps changing by itself :( I hate mine... totel waste of time and money works fine, if I power it of another battery.

So they sort of found how to make hobyist Lipo packs like Mavic batteries with built-in discharging to storage :) Except this is still too cumbersome for me. Discharging after use in charger is still sort of easier for me. But this invention may be useful for someone, I believe.

Hi! I've just bought a battair plugin from ISDT but im having trouble connecting it to my phone with battair app. It just keeps searxhing without finding anything. I can see the device in my Bluetooth menu but cannot connect to it from there. Do you have any tips or advice?

THE app dosn't do anything just keeps searching for the unit 🤔🤔when I open it it just says click agree on privacy policy...but there's no agree to click on ...🤔🤔 the page won't scrol up or down to see anything...😵😵

Can't wait for this to be another flop from ISDT again...... We don't even keep batteries alive long enough to see the value in this product, what are they thinking??? Feels like ISDT is blind to the feedback of the consumers that use their product and it shows.....

My small solar system has a 24V battery bank (7S 20P type 18650) and I love the idea of being able to see the status via an app. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does NOT offer a BattAirPlug for my 7S system (would be a BAP7 model). Btw the AIR 8 can handle 8S systems.
