Do you have a bumpy lawn that is in need of levelling, or maybe your lawn isn't that flat or level. Do you crave a smooth lawn?
In today's video, we have you covered. I'm going to show you all the steps on how to level your bumpy or lumpy lawn from start to finish
I will take you through each step and explain what height to cut your lawn, and how to find the bumps on your lawn.
I will show you a range of tools that you can use, some pro and some DIY, no need for anything fancy (unless you want to of course)
Today I'm using a USGA sports sand and will talk through the benefits of sand and how to spot sand with a lot of clay in it. And what sand you should avoid for your lawn
We will test out a range of tools to get the sand worked into the soil, everything from a basic yard brush to a professional drag mat and we will test a DIY mat alongside the professional mat to see what works best.

I made the diy drag mat when Robbie did the video. It’s the best £40 or so and a couple of hours build time I’ve spent, I use it every year thanks again Robbie.

Would you use this same technique for large dips? There used to be a pond in the garden & it was not compacted enough when turfed, now there is a large dip

If I want to renovate my lawn, do I scarify and aerate first and get the grass growing better. Or do I level the lumps and bumps first and aerate maybe next year?

Same here. I cut it really low so I could find as many nests as possible. I found dozens! Now I got loads of flattened anthills.

Hi Robbie, I’ve had someone scarify & aerate my lawn yesterday, but they did it during a really heavy rain shower and the grass looks like the Somme. Any tips to speed up the repair time? I was thinking lots of seed, nitrogen & seaweed. Thanks.

I think if I try to level with sand, I would need to have like 10cm of sand to cover. Holes and bumps are too big. I guess I will try first with soil to make it better and then sand after to finalize.

I@@Premier_lawns_official I love your videos, but I'm also confused about the conflicting messages. You tell us in your videos not to use sand to top dress or level a lawn, but it appears that is all you use. You even show us your bulk sand storage and describe the best sand to use. I use only top soil when leveling my lawn and use fine compost as a top dressing. I suppose if I lived on the beach I would use sand, but otherwise I'll stick to what is already in my lawn.
