This is definitely one of my favorite 2MTs, Pete. Making transitions that can drive the story, establish setting, and keep the pace up is hugely important, especially with more modern styles. I will for sure be using some of these tips in my future films!

Awesome stuff as always! I just switched to editing with Premiere Pro and really appreciate all of the help. I am definitely looking forward to using some of these transitions soon. I especially liked your transition in the Kenya clip that went from the person walking with the basket to the truck (@2:47).

Man - this saved me today! I went up on the mountain and used one of your hints you mention in this video about going behind a subject so it blocks the entire frame and then moving to a new area and starting behind something! Loved IT!

I always recommend to do it before and after completing a shot! When editing you know when to cut if you don't like the transition, and if you do you can just keep it. It's sweet free extra material.

Ditto on the fave and ditto on showing it in post, I'd like to what it looks like in an FCPX timeline. I think this is another thing that's powerful in small doses, I'd get dizzy with too many.

This is the reason why i like you. Doing things like this @ 0:50 . You dint have mask your hand to be over the clock. It was just 2 secs. Mos people wont notice it. Most wont care. yet, you did it. those little things add to the experience and makes me wanna respect you even more for willing to do things that most people wont notice.

Aryan Prince, at around 0:50 he waved his hand around the timer and he masked the hand over the timer making it look like he put his hand on the timer. Though it's a very small detail it shows that he's putting in extra effort into his videos even though it might go over a lot of viewers heads.

This is really nice. I often watch videos showing various transition techniques but it's so easy to forget just a flash of light or a camera shake can be inserted between clips to add some spice. Great video. Thank you for that. Although I have a little tip. If you want your shakey pan ending on a nice framing but you can’t handle that because it’s too hard to end on the perfect framing. Start with the perfect framing in your shot. Then shake your camera like crazy. Reverse it in post and voila. 👍
