For a few years, I've been making many of my own backpacking meals right at home. All you need is a dehydrator and recipes that dehydrate well. You can rehydrate and cook the meals just like any commercially produced backpacking meal. All you have to do is add boiling water. Recipe
-1 lb ground meat (version, elk, or beef)
-1/2 to 1 head of cabbage
-Carrots, celery, mushrooms, and other veggies to taste
-2 Tbs finely grated or minced ginger
-1/2 Cup Soy Sauce (adjust to taste)
-1/2 Cup Brown Sugar (adjust to taste)
-2 Cups Rice
