Thanks for the tutorial! My Brother-in-law keeps bees, and he has sent a bit of wax my way. I need to ask if he has any more yet. Once I have enough, I want to try this!

How did you clean the slow cooker ?

I use it only for encaustic so I never fully clean it. When it's empty and still warm I just wipe the inside with a paper towel.

Fun tutorial! What is the benefit of creating the discs, rather than just using your loaf pan? Is it just because you make a large batch and need to store some? Do you feed the discs into your loaf pan when it is getting low? 😊

Yes that's it, and also it take a long time to melt the whole loaf pan, so if I don't have much time to get ready or just need a little bit of wax, then it's easier to melt a small quantity.

Hello, I tried this technique but the resin formed up into a ball or chunk might be a better word while the wax melted perfectly.

Hi Elaine! I think the temperature may not have been high enough. The wax melts at a lower temperature than the resin. What you could try is set aside most of the wax, melt the resin again at a slightly higher temperature, then incorporate the wax little by little while stirring with a wooden stick. Good luck!

je suis francaise Bref je ne suis pas douée en anglais mais heureusement il y a sous titrage en francais ça tombe bien car je fais parfois de cosmétique beauté ou menager avec cire d'abeille Par chance j'ai tout les matériels sauf damar resin Est ce que c'est conseillé ou facultatif ?? Mixed media j'ai servi depuis 20 ans en meme temps de coté le scrap presque tous les jours dans mon atelier c'est passionnant !!Merci beaucoup vos videos c'ets un coup de foudre !!

Bonjour Véronique! Tu peux déjà essayer avec seulement la cire d'abeille. La résine de Damar permet à la cire d'être plus dure et transparente.
