I also have an advice in addition to this video : Think about WHERE your pages are going to be, (for exemple the 3rd is on the left, the 4th on the right and so on) Because you have to let a space in the place where your pages are going to be tied up (on the left side of the right pages and vice versa) And in retuurn, you can draw until the edge of the page for the other side (and ofc don’t draw or write after the cut of marks, as it is going to disappear in the final result) And thanks a lot for your video MAR-CEL, it helps a lot ! Honestly Im still in the planning stage of my manga with the worldbuilding and had lost motivation on it, not working on it for months until this video just popped up. Thank you Marcel. This video found me at a good time. I’ve basically written 3 unique stories already, drawn character designs. Written most of the script, but I’ve never drawn a comic page in my life. I was finally feeling like “I’m just gonna f*cking start and draw idgaf.” But you reminded me that I should gaf. your the only person who makes short conscience videos about a certain topic in art and your roadmaps to executing said thing are very simple and straight to the point you deliver them like a package basically and i love it plus your German what's not to like about Germans I myself am learning German/Deutsch spanish and Japanese but not all at once of course and i like being able to draw.... In America we have a saying, “proper prior planning prevents piss poor performance” another great video showcasing the importance of basic competence that can’t be shortcut. Most people don’t understand the amount of prerequisite skill and effort drawing demands.

This will be a great video to watch! I'm also planning on making my own manga/comic, and I'm still on the idea collection and character design stage, having made several characters for now. The difficult part is the fact that I have two different ideas for two different genres and I've already accidentally made characters for each one 😅

I cannot thank you enough for the free link to Milanote. I'm still a student who writes and does not have any amount to spend on it, and having a tool like Milanote is such a helpful thing therefore thank you sooo much for that😭😭 and always reminding me of how fun and nice it is to draw, u make it more of a relaxing time activity than a another thing I have learn (less of a subject than a hobby) and have actually learned alot. Getting confused with a crude storyboard, at least for me, is actually quite fun. If i get around half the idea of the original page, i can wing it with much more freedom than a tight, planned out storyboard would otherwise allow. Sure, more impactful pages do require more care put into their composition, ESPECIALLY if you like playing around with the panels layout and shape, and for those, detailed storyboards are a must. But drawing on the spot improved the creativity and flow of my pages by quite a lot. Great video, Marshall Li :)
