In this video, I wanted to see what the final state of our compost is in the pot we made before to get free soil in our house.
If you remember, we filled it to the brim with compost materials, but now there is a loss of about five fingers... Since we covered it with soil in between and on top, it seems like a bit less lost, but if we remove the compost or soil we put before, it's almost 50 percent. We have a loss of around 60... Therefore, if you want to compost in your home, not just such a pot, but in much larger pots, larger boxes, or not one pot but three pots, five pots, ten pots... how many? If you can, it would be much more logical to set up and make composts this way. Because the process is long, in fact, I had to open this compost before, but it was a little late due to the power of work. It is the maturation process of this compost in about 3-3.5 months. For this reason, while you are preparing your compost, try to set up a little more in line with your possibilities so that you have enough compost for you during the season.
The root of the clover remained intact, other than that, we can consider it quite successful. There has not been a complete composting, but it will do our job, if you follow the video; We had banana peels, we had herbs, we had eggshells, we put almost all the leftovers that would come out of the kitchen and it became like this. All the materials, except the clover roots, have come to a great position with their nice smell.
We have a chance to make our own land in our house this way and I see it as successful. Apart from that classic compost in a pot, that is, compost made by constantly mixing, it is very nice, very successful... came.
I think that we have already successfully given fertilizers and nutrients together with those kitchen scraps in which we have put the nutrients in, I think we have adjusted the proportions well, if we had not adjusted it, it would not have come to this.
In particular, we see that the egg shells look like the first day. I have already tried to explain these in the videos about producing calcium from egg shells. When you put the eggshells in the soil, they do not decompose very quickly, they do not turn. It takes a very long time for the plant to transform into the form it can take. Calcium can be obtained more quickly by treating it in vinegar.
We see that some parts do not transform. These are quite natural, as we did not do the continuous mixing process like classical compost, it happened gradually. Some of them did not decompose, maybe we could have a chance to be accelerated by adding a little more lactic acid. Since we add kitchen scraps to our compost, the plant nutrients in those organic materials are now in our soil, namely our compost. But there is not enough plant nutrients in it to feed the plant enough for the whole season.
By making a transformation, we both fulfilled our duties towards nature and got our land for free.
It is not good to be in soil that has not been fully composted while the plant is growing. Because they consume plant nutrients as they decompose. The best thing to do is to compost it completely and plant the plant in it.
I recommend this kind of work is both enjoyable and does not require a lot of effort.
