I agree that art style matters, as good art really does attract people’s eyes to the webtoon, I speak from experience of looking at webtoons because of the art

I'm not sure if I'm the best person to do this cuz I do majority of my comic making on my laptop since it has CSP EX and my iPad only has the Pro plan. But I'm pretty sure the concept is the same as on PC as long as you have CSP EX. I also mentioned how I use 3D models in my Webtoons Shortcuts video, maybe some of the tips there might help ❤

The comic sans hate is really sad sometimes. As a heavily dyslexic person, it's the most easiest font to read, hence why I prefer it over others. And yet, it always has to be locked away becomes folks hate it too much. It literally looks like my handwriting 💀

2:31 What is the smallest text size you would recommend using for Webtoons? How can I avoid making the text size too small for someone who is reading on their phone? Also, what fonts do you recommend for Webtoons? What font sizes would you suggest for each font? What fonts do you recommend for sound effects? Thank you 🙏🏻

I don't have a standard font size, but I recommend 13 px if your canvas is 16,000 wide by 20,000. Like I mentioned in the video, make sure your speech bubbles are at least a third, or half of your canvas size, just to make sure it's big enough for readers to read it. I already mentioned the fonts I use, so they're the most common for webtoons as well. As for sound effects, I draw them by hand. Are all the fonts you suggested free for commercial use? Do you think it's worth spending on a font license to get a font that's more aesthetically pleasing than the free ones (like the fonts used by lezhin, tappytoon etc)? Also, I'd like to know how you made the title page of your webtoon ("Woes of a Male Lead" has such a fancy feel!) Thanks for the video~

Some of the fonts I use are paid, most are free though. And the ones commonly used but tappytoon and Lezhin are most likely paid as well from what I see TBH. And the font I used for my Title is downloaded from Dafont then I edited a bit to suit my webtoon aesthetic

another point i'd like to make about art style is that its definitely a preference thing, there's this manga i read (im not gonna name it cuz its nsfw) where the reviews praise it for wonderful & moving storytelling but i cant seem to read past volume 1 cuz the art style threw me off... so, yes, art style does matter

I’m using ibis paint and I don’t have those fonts i be using “Comic neue Angular Bold” and I honestly think it’s not that bad😓

I don't use anything fancy, I just use Google docs for everything 😂 I tried cool story writing apps but I gave up understanding.

I use Komika Boo for shaky dialogue. Other fonts are Komika Parch, Badaboom BB and Luna. A lot of the fonts I use are from Dafont

what canvas size to you use? and is 1080 x 20000 good?

I use 1600 by 20,000 px. 1080 by 20,000 is good. Though I do recommend a larger width in case in the future you want to print your comic but if not, it's fine

Question, is webtoon really is 800x1280?? Why do people lineart and drawing looks good, when my lineart look like shit in 800x1280? How? You can't draw something hd in 800 page size!

I draw on a 1600 x 20,000px size page then export it into a smaller file. That way you can get better quality images. You can see how I do it on my How to Make a Webtoon video :)

@@obliviousquill oh so there alternative then, I have a story to tell, it been 10 year, since I was a kid I literally stuck at first chapter to draw to search of drawing style, I draw using phones, the background are 3D blender It Tooks too many times, I have to build every single building, I am so tired, I still haven't finish chapter 1 yet, didn't know making kingdoms story is this hard Because a normal slice of life just using 3D school that can be downloaded cause classroom look exactly the same Is background really that matter?

@@Kekauzu Background is important for the story telling aspect. How would readers know where your characters are and how they interact with the place? You don't have to draw the background for every panel though, establish the scene first then you can put other effects and leave the panel blank if you want. Manga artists are really good at this. I also have a friend who's taking years to go past 3 pages of his story, mainly because of the backgrounds so I understand. I hope you can publish your comic one day. If you have money you're willing to spend on readily made 3D models, then spend it, it is so worth it. You save time and energy.

@@Kekauzu I'm guessing he has other things doing so he cant focus fully on it and there's also issue of perfectionism, every time the person opens their work, they'll see something that they don't like and proceed to focus on that instead of putting that time into making a new page
