LUNA, Etude House, Rom&nd (Romand), and peripera are all Korean brands ❤ Some Japanese brands you could try if you want to do a J-beauty dive... SUQQU, ADDICTION, Canmake, Kose, Majolica Majorca, ISEHAN (also called Heroine Make sometimes for their most well known mascaras and eyeliners), Miche Bloomin, Shu Uemura, and Shiseido has cheaper products like their sub-$10 short eyebrow pencil that is SERIOUSLY slept on

Yeah ❤. Also Visée. I live in Japan and I buy my SUQQU make up at Selfridges because is cheaper than in Japan… I don’t get why. I can say the best máscaras of the whole world are from Canmake (around USD7.00). They keep your lashes up no matter what and easy to remove.

For anyone wondering what that weird plastic thing for the blush was for…I had to know! “Acclaimed by beauty bloggers, the blusher features a "cheek navi" arm that allows you to measure and line up where it is best to apply the blush.”

That's too funny, but it's the exact sort of gimmick I'd expect from an Asian beauty brand because it's aimed at helping the beginner. I think that's what really draws me to Asian makeup brands... they're just better for regular people.

If anyone is wondering about Chacott, its actually a ballet brand which explains why the shadows are so pigmented, which is not the usual preference in asian make up

Don't sleep on Japanese skin care. A lot of my most repurchased items are from brands like hada labo. They make amazing products in the $10 -$20 dollar range and beat out any American product I've tried in that price range. Sunscreen too! My current waterproof favorite is from Kose (the UV Perfect Gel SPF 50+/PA++++). It's about $11 bottle and has never let me down. No tan lines, no burning, no weird greasy texture. Very cosmetically elegant and doubles as a make-up primer.

hada labo are the goat, i’ve used their hyaluronic acid essence for literal years. the water consistency is amazing and it’s so easy to layer it up. every time i wear it under makeup i look SO well-rested and hydrated and refreshed, it’s the best.

@@cait8480 I use the Shirojyun version that has arbutin in it. It's the best skin brightener I've used since Misha reformulated the long name essence. So gentle, so effective, and the price is right. It's my Frank's Red Hot, I try to put that sh*t on everybody, lol.

Nivea and Biore sunscreens are my Japanese favorites. Hada Labo has many great products. I use their cleaners and HA serums. Suqqu is ok, but overhyped IMO. I also recently ordered Addiction and Linosol eyeshadows and they’re like Suqqu. Ok but not favorites.

Half of the products would be K-beauty though😂 Can Make; cream blushes, cream highlighter. Majorica; Majoruca mascara, single eyeshadow Kate; eyeshadow palette, eyebrow powder palette Tinted mascara and eyebrow gel is quite popular. Don't forget eyeliners (they normally have a special section for eyeliner) Japan is a land of humid, so you can find really good long lasting eyeliner with fun shades!

Chacott (pronounced "sha-cot") is a Japanese dancewear brand. So their makeup is meant for dancers to wear onstage so it is long lasting and low irritant even if you are sweating etc.

Cute eyeliner and bb cream worked good on you! I wear really chill makeup now being almost 69. I have major folds on my eyelids so shadow and eyeliner have to be mostly Smokey. I have hooded eyes too so it’s challenging to not look freakish with eyeshadow.

The brand Fancl is pronounced as "fan-co" in English. Its a brand that focus on no parabens so better to use them up soon. The juicy lip tint is Romand, also from korea, their lip tints are the best

Such a pretty, colorful look 💗 As a beauty lover living in Japan I‘d recommend these products for your next Japan trip: - Heroine Make Long and Curl Mascara (brand: Isehan) - Heroine Make liquid eyeliner pen (Isehan) - Brow powder (KATE) - Creamy touch liner (Canmake) - Cream rouge (Canmake) - Stay on balm rouge (Canmake) - Lip tint oil rouge lipstick (Opera) - Whipped powder blush (Shiseido) - Skincare could be another long list, but Gokujyun is a good place to start. Love their Hyaluronic Premium Lotion, but you could blindly pick up something from them and it’d probably be good 🤪 Could go on an ooon 😍 Especially canmake is so affordable and so frickin good! Hope you continue to dive into J-Beauty 💗 Last side note: the plastic thing on the blush is supposed to keep the gap between your nose and cheeks, so you don’t bring the blush too close in (hope that made sense) :)

I loved this! I will buy your brush when it’s available. I think you’re the very best. I’m not a fan of super long, super chatty vids but if this was an example of longer and chattier (Alex style) video, then I’m ALL in!! 30 minutes-ish with your personality doing a full on glam (celeb inspired) video was perfect IMHO. I just purchased quite a few new Korean brands, skincare & makeup, & I got an Etude fixing tint as well in Midnight Mauve, but it pulls so like...burnt orange. Was not expecting it as well. But yeah the formulas are great!

Sorry for the late reply: yeah the first 5 colors of the Fixing Tint were super disappointing for cool toned people, especially Midnight Mauve which is way too warm even though they say it’s for Summer Cool on their website lol 🙄 Idk if you’ve seen other colors since then but they’ve released colors that are a lot more suitable for cool tones. From lightest to darkest: • *08 Dusty Beige* ▸ neutral pink beige • *11 Rose Blending* ▸ cool medium pink • *[LUVISTRUE edition] 01 Lilac Pink* ▸ muted soft pink mauve • *15 Woody Pink* ▸ muted cool Mauve • *14 Rose Lilac* ▸ medium dark purple pink

This LOOK!!! This is exactly my vibe these days, too! Amassing makeup that can make it possible. Just ordered blue, green and purple mascara earlier this week! Edit: The strategy I'm going to try is to put on white mascara, let it dry, and then put blue, green or purple mascara on top of that. Not sure it'll work, but worth trying.
