the intense contrast between the super soft soothing voice and genuinely helpful instructions versus the knowing that this is a video about making a dollar store long furby (that also at some point mentions making a furby with teeth) is so, so great

Wow I loved this!! I'd love to try it sometime. Last year I made my own Long Furb Ellipsis out of only things I already owned. He has no spine, his fuzzy body is made out of two Chewbacca Onesie arms I cut off and sewed together, his tummy fur is an old flannel, I scavenged an old pillow for his stuffin and I made his faceplate out of plastic Canvas and yarn. He's a special little boy and he's just perfect!! So glad to see more people doing furby stuff on a budget, especially among the furb inflation prices on eBay the last couple years. Thanks for making this video and sharing!!

Seeing you make that faceplate piece by piece has got me wondering if I could make one out of felt or something, so I could have a furby that was entirely squishy and cuddle safe. (I love Nikky, but his beak has come close to scuffing my glasses once or twice.) Anyway, definitely use those teeth. I saw a comic on tumblr where someone off screen was telling a female furby to smile, and she opened up this wide, sharptoothed maw that had been hidden in the fur under her beak. You should totally do that. 🤣

Thank you for this video! I live in Finland and been wanting to make a long furby. i have only seen people using the faceplates from etsy and the spines from ebay/aliexpress. The faceplates and spines have over 20dollar shipping in here and I don't have an unlimited budjet. Thank you for your tips about the modeling clay, and also the wire from hardware store, I wasn't sure if it would be possible so do a furby with those, especially with a small budjet. ❤️❤️

Using little pillows instead of super pricy (but albeit high quality) faux fur is a smart move, esp if you’re just making a plush or, in this case, a long Furby. I’m making a fursuit head right now and fursuits do not look good if you use bad quality materials, so after $100 worth of fur, I can attest that fur is expensive loll.

If i wanna make a ~ home made furby ~ do i need that 3d printed face?
@theoddbody18563 жыл бұрын
Definitely not! If you want to sculpt one at home I recommend looking at different reference photos. The standard Furby face is 2”/2”, but you can make it as large or small as you want. I’ve seen so many amazing home made faces ❤️
@rusted_ursa3 жыл бұрын
I like the 3D printed faces, cuz the guy that sells them includes clear domes for the eyes. They're about 10 bucks plus shipping. But if you wanna sculpt, definitely go with craft store polymer clay. 2oz is more than enough, so you don't need to break the bank. And you can bake it multiple times, so you can slowly build the face up if you want. A tip for removing fingerprints from polyemer clay is to dip a qtip in rubbing alcohol and gently stroke the clay until its smooth and clean.
