This is how I make my masts for my 12mR rc sailboats. 97 inch long. 2.47 meters.

Hey Lars brilliant to share thx for this. have build a carbon mast for the old A class I was restoring. over 2m also. Similar approach but I think I only glued the overlap for 8-10cm if I remember... seems to work ok so far... though I need a stiffer mast. Do you reinforce the mast where you drilled for the spreaders? I do but maybe be overkill? Any good recommendation on a good 3d printer... looks like the way to go to make some small parts for our boats...

I did re-inforce the mast on these two where I drilled for the spreaders. I never broke a mast (so far) so I don't know if it is necessary. In video number two, I'll show how the spreaders are re-inforced. I love my Creality CR-10 V2 printer. Works like a charm right out of the box. 10 cm overlap is plenty. I did 15cm because I want a stiffer mast.

Where did you get the carbon tubes to make your mast? What’s the diameter ?

I bought them from a company here in Sweden. These masts turned out a bit to weak for my 12mR's. If you look on my channel, there are videos showing how I build my masts using multiple round carbon tubes. Diameter of the main tube today is 18mm. Thanks, Lars
