when making wooden thread the best thing to do is to soak the wood fibres in CA glue beforehand - it'll make the fibres a lot stronger so the threads will be stronger, and it's a good idea to cut a groove into the thread so it acts like a tap. The other way is to soak the wood in linseed oil over a period of several days (immersed is preferable), then allow it to fully cure - the downside is that takes a LONG time - but if you have an idea to do this in the future, preparing the wood for the handle can be done months in advance.

The dill bit should be HSS so if someone else does this, don't heat treat or quench it. Let it air cool and it will be ok.

The bit was originally a TC masonry bit - hence the angle grinder up front. I suspect that the flights and shank are not HSS at all.

Underrated video for sure. But you could've spent a couple minutes with a sand paper to really smooth out the handle. The lathe working marks are visible and frankly it kinda takes away from the beauty of the wood.
