Even if you didn't look up the names of the parts of a Bautista, they're all so accurate! Your clapkiln is fitting just as it should through the burgenhoff, which is the part that adds "wayne-girth" to the bolt as it travels through the pilch shaft. It's good you used those gears for your stauntleever, otherwise that would throw off the balance once the dilf is thrown during the heat of battle. Definitely a dangerous and nice looking Balenciaga!

Real Banistas often had that exact problem on the proving grounds, the oaken stauntleever would throw off the balance if it wasn't first caked in mud. Bronze was just too expensive at the time to waste on Bariscas. Later models would improve this with a girdlespring fixed to the up end of the stauntleever. Eventually, they decided to just balance the dilf instead with six Coptic marzel vanes, so fitted to the wane shaft that side-fumbling was effectively prevented. Whenever incendiary score motion was required, they could ignite the bolo with a drawn-reciprocating dingle arm, which, though they didn't know it at the time, had the side bonus of reducing sinusoidal depleneration.

Discovery had a series called 'Doing DaVinci' (or 'making DaVinci' ? something like that) And they really really had to work at it to make them using modern tooling (and the occasional chainsaw) to build them. When you compare that to the building practices of his era they certainly weren't "practical" ... and that's before you consider the rather dangerous end results.

To my engineer's eye there's *enough* detail to identify it as a ballista-like machine without displaying a lot of pickable nits. That's what really matters in any scale model- does it look so much like the thing it's modeling that you don't mistake it for anything else, and do you really care that some bits are a little out of scale or placement? If the answers are "yes" and "no" in that order, then it works. I want to thank those who can afford to sponsor you on Patreon for keeping the channel going. I'm old on fixed income and just can;'t contribute, so I guess I'm freeloading, but I wanted to let those who do contribute know that those of us who can't really appreciate them. Finally- this may be overly personal but it looks like your tremor is getting a bit worse, but you ain't letting it stop you. If I hadn't watched you build that thing I would not have known.
