It was a week long project. Started with two swingarms. A 2002 and a 2020. They are all the same except in 2019 Yamaha changes the axle holders to cast pieces. $25 and $135 respectively. Then it was off to buy some metal supply. I bought a 1/4” steel plate and some angle iron to make a jig to hold everything straight. I then made some sleeves to join the parts. 1/4” box tube cut to size and welded together to fit. About $100 in metal supply.. Yamaha sells a big wheel brake hose it was $35. Wheels are Tusk Impact. 16” rear and 19” front $400 for the set. MX33 tires, tubes, bands, and bead locks $175. New chain $20. Professional welding services $100. Was it worth it?
