I really enjoyed your video I haven't made a knife for years. May I make a suggestion, I used to prep my knives up to 400 grit sandpaper before heat treat that way its a lot easier to finish after.

The London plane handle goes great with the leather stain. Nice touch adding the ferro stick.

Amazing craftsmanship! I'm not in the knife making business, but I just want to say, I never wear gloves when using stationary sanding or grinding equipment. I keep quenching if the workpiece gets too hot for bare hands. The synthetic gloves with polyurethane coating probably melt when you bump the sandpaper or grinding wheel. But with stronger gloves especially work/leather, I have seen people's hands pulled into a bench grinder when they bumped the wheel with a fingertip or knuckle.

Thanks for the advice. Since this video I have stopped wearing gloves for grinding, though it was mostly to get a better feel of the bevel when grinding.

Don’t know if you’ve tried this before (it’s been five years so I’m sure you have but it never hurts to say), but if you dip the entire blade in the oil during the quench it’s less likely to warp

is there any way to prevent warping during the heat treatment? like maybe pinching it between two bricks?

The reason this one warped is I heat treated to hot I believe. There is a minute or so after you've quenched the blade in which it is still maliable and you can bend it back, but that's risky as the blade could snap.
