Man this looks awesome! That LED bulb was perfect too. Almost looks like a cone of light coming up around the butterfly. Well done!

That is really beautiful! My daughter has a large moth that's been sitting around for a long time. If I can find a mold deep enough, maybe I could cast it in resin to hang on the wall. Thanks for the inspiration!

I see others get rid of bubbles by waving a torch over it... I can't imagine you can do that with the plastic container. How do you deal with bubbles? Is that what the pressure pot does? Beautiful work!

I really like how the light is centered on the butterfly almost like a museum display. I feel like the antennas being not symmetrical and the body being bent like that definitely adds to the pieces authenticity. My only suggestion would be to try just tilting the butterfly a little bit one way or the other as if it were flying off in a random direction. Butterflies fly rather spazmodically so having it set so square just doesn't seem natural to me. But dont listen to me. Your work is beautiful already.

is there any way possible of preserving a reptile in resin? my bet lizard died a few weeks ago and i have it in the freezer and was wondering if there was a way to cast it in resin

It would be possible but you would need it to be dry, you may even need to remove the organs

Don’t be scared, just learn about the do’s and dont’s before you start, take your time and start with something basic, 👍

It’s an Australian Common Crow butterfly; as the name suggests, they’re pretty common around here.
