I'm assisted by Ian Whitt making a cane cup from Uroboros System 96 Rods. Created as course materials for the class I'm teaching titled "Using Uroboros Cane" in Aug 2014 at Public Glass in San Francisco.
Some notes:
- Uroboros System 96 is very soft glass; I recommend you work it conservatively (on the cooler side), especially using the 6mm rods as shown here.
- The 6mm rods are great for cups but on the thin side for cane. Select the thicker of your rods when possible and work cool.
- The larger 10mm rods are generally easier and more forgiving to work with and well suited for larger work, but not ideal for thin cups.
- For work larger than cups, both 6mm and 10mm cane can be picked up on a collar or a bubble. I'll demonstrate a bubble pickup in another video.
The video is annotated throughout the process.

I really like these videos, I wish you had more of them. I seem to come back to them again and again as I try to get better.

Great technique video. You covered a lot of bases in one simple cup. Thanks! (And when you add the VO, consider adding a last shot of the finished piece.)

Fantastic video. I like the perspective you get filming a glassblowing demo on a GoPro!

might prefer to hear you doing a voice over, and to see the finished cup, but still and all, this was quite informative and educational - Thanks David!

Yes, I agree. I need to re-do these with a voiceover.
