I love how this Video makes you feel so calm and all. I also love how he made the Holster. Its incredible how beautiful the end product was! I recently made my own Holster from an old Leather Jacket that i had laying around but wore because it was way to big. Due to the recent skyrocketing in Demand for Self Defense goods, its incredibly hard to get a good Holster in Germany these days, so i had to improvise. It works fine and feels better than Mexican Carry (which i did before) but its not even close to the beauty of this piece. I wish i could make Holsters like that...

I have 3 of his holsters for Sig Sauer P229. Springfield XDM, and Glock 19. I use them a lot and they have held up very well. Great quality,workmanship and style, I will be buying one for my Sig Sauer P329 soon.

I'm a wildlife artist... and as an artist who focuses on the fine details of color, shape and texture when I do a drawing series and then finally the painting... watching you during the process was great fun. I know I have to have one of your chest rigs for an EAA Witness Polymer 9mm (shape very close to the CZ 75).

Is that like "Fort Clark" (Bracketville, TX)? Sir, excellent leather work. It had been a very long time since I had seen a "walker" sewing machine in action. Not like nowdays that leather craftsmanship uses those 3-, 4-prong forks. Also, I liked your method of covering all the leather with dye/paint. It costs much more, from your end, the first time you use it, but a more professional job all-around. Sir, thank you very much for your produced video ... very educational, and indeed informative.

how do you measure to see the perfect length for a custom chest holster? i need one that will fit a kid, lol im only 4,2" tall.. I use To do leatherwork, so I went and bought some tools and leather, I already know how To make the holster but not sure how to do the straps and how to properly measure myself for what I need.

Great video! Towards the end of the video, what was the "balm" you were rubbing on?
@SRHeartbreaker8 жыл бұрын
That was Montana Pitch Blend - a combination of Mink oil, Beeswax, and Pine Pitch. It works great to waterproof the leather while adding some moisture after the dying and drying process.

Jimmy, you'll have to talk to Gordon over at Paradise Valley Leather as he's making these now. Personally, I've always liked white stitches on a tan holster.

At 5:28 what do you rub on the holster?
@SRHeartbreaker8 жыл бұрын
We use a product called "Montana Pitch Blend" to condition and seal the leather. It's a mixture of mink oil, pine pitch, and beeswax. Works great to restore moisture to the leather and water proof it at the same time. It can be applied in several coats to give it a thick wax coating, or as few as two coats as we do on our holsters. It takes quite a bit of time to apply correctly, as it should be worked in by hand to allow warming of the surface.

That is not a shoulder holster, it's called a chest rig. A shoulder holster puts the gun under the arm.
@SRHeartbreaker8 жыл бұрын
+archangel20031 You're absolutely right - this is our chest holster, but we do make a shoulder holster using the same holster, just with a different harness. The best thing is that you can buy one holster and two harnesses and have both. I need to get a video up that shows the shoulder holster. clarkforkleather.com/horizontal-shoulder-holster/
@archangel200318 жыл бұрын
+ClarkForkLeather I need a shoulder rig for concealed carry as my 1911 is like a brick on my hip! The chest rig would seem best for back country, hunting in the cold and seated draw. Nobody want's to fumble around to try and dig their gun out from under several layers of winter clothing while sitting down.
