Brilliant work thanks for showing that you don't need all the very expensive tools to make something stunning all knife making today have moved away from using simple tools i think that they use two much expensive stuff

seeing that belt walk when ur sanding the handle makes me feel so uneasy. ones the belt goes over the rollers edge enough it will slap ya. also why clear coat. oil or a wax would have looked as good if not better and gives the wood better protection over time

Very nice job good workmanship i wish you would of ground the bevels in then done the pattern on the blade i think it would off made it even crisper around the edges

Всё это красиво выглядит только до первого использования. Стоит намочить и не протереть, начнёт быстро ржаветь. Посмотри на рессору она наверняка вся ржавая. Таким будет и нож.

But is your chef's knife remotely as thick as one of these blades. And how long would your chef's knife last chopping wood? The point is tough enough to cut trees and sharp enough to slice like a chefs knife. These knives are built to last.

Too lighten and for the epoxy, I assume it's the same reason wood dowells have grooves, for the glue.

@@sammyeldon6318 The holes create weak points in the handle and makes it even more unbalanced. It's completely unnecessary to drill holes specifically for the glue

Судя по всему этот нож по трем треубемым признакам (длина лезвия, толщина лезвия у обуха и наличие упора или глубина охвата ручки пальцами) относится к холодному оружию. И потому за изготовление и хранение подобной (правда) красоты - кто то может получить реальный срок колонии.

Двоякое чувство от просмотра... С одной стороны, вроде и не плохая кухонная утварь. И колбаску нарезать, и косточки, ежели на пути окажутся, порубить... И да, в современном мире - этот процесс выглядит естественно... Всё нормально: вырезал, обточил, заточил... Но Древний Мастер во мне, буквально вопит от этого кощунства... Сколько ценнейшего материала уходит вникуда, выбрасывается в мусор... Всего лишь потому, что в этом обществе это бросовый материал, а всего лишь век назад, за такое расточительство, тебе бы вырвали руки из жопы и прирастили туда, куда надо...

All of your knives are very ordinary. If you really want to proof your knives are 'sharp' then put a banana vertical position and cut it with your knives by slicing through the banana but both upper and lower part of the banana should stay in that vertical position then you pick up the upper half and show that your knife went through it without making them fall. That is how a sharpness of knives is tested. I watched your third design and shut off the video. and disliked it.

If you want to get technical, there are edge testers to accurately measure sharpness. Slicing paper is a common and perfectly fine demonstration of sharpness. It’s odd that you decided to critique that?
