Happy Sunday everyone! In today’s video I’ll be showing you how I made a custom Yumiko- style leotard as a surprise for my sisters birthday!!! This was super fun and challenging to make and I’m really happy with how it turned out. Let me know what you think! Enjoy! :)

Thank you! I'm definitely do some more dance sewing videos in the future, thanks for the suggestion. I did put elastic in the leg holes, it's bathing suit elastic so that it doesn't dry rot when washed!

Thank you! The fabric is called Milliskin but it can go by other names (spandex, Lycra, etc.) It’s sold at most fabric stores in New York!

I didn’t really make a real pattern actually - I traced a real yumiko and eyeballed a lot of it :P there’s a part in the video where I filmed the process!

hi! how did you draft the pattern with the front of the leotard having more fabric than the back?

I turned it inside out and measure the outline of the front and back panel separately to have a front template and a back template!

I’m not certain of the model number but it’s titled “Janome, new home sewing machine” - hope this helps!
