As a hand woodworker myself, this is so much harder than it actually looks. Nice sharp tools, good nibbling technique. Beautiful craftsmanship.

This is a wonderful walk through the meticulousness and passion of creating without machine noises. A delight!

You have an excellent skill set. Using a very minimal set of mostly budget tools to create a very well made cabinet.

I'm about to add a glass door to an existing cabinet and been poking around on the tubes for too long. I have to say this is a very welcomed change to the router, caulk gun, stapler crew I've witnessed so far. Excellent job!

I just subscribed to your channel. I like how you don't join the race for the biggest table saw, the most expensive toolboard with walnut and rosewood inlay. Just a workbench and handtools. Last week I bought handtools to get out of the expensive machine race. You prove that it is possible to build awesome things without machines. Thank you.

Excellent job!! Your skill level is amazing and patience precision with hand tools is truly inspiring. I wish you had shown the hand drill you used to make the hole for the door knob, I think it's the same one my dad gave to me when I was a kid.

13:06 What tone of stain was that? And the last thing you applied with a stick was shellac? The final result is awesome

From the looks of the can, It looks like an osmo for the stick thing, so prob some hard wax oil... Although cans can deceive 😅

Absolutely beautiful! What an incredible piece to come from such unpromising-looking bits of timber. Your work is first-rate. Bravo! I just subscribed.

This was incredible! I was constant amused by how everything fitted perfectly! Is there a way to make this waterproof/weather proof? I wanna make this and set it up in a public place to make a "leave a book take a book" Cabinet for the public

Cabinets can display anything. Nobody but nobody addresses the issue of shop dust covering the French cleat items. Cabinets with sliding doors will solve the problem. Use lexan for visibility. Your thoughts. Better yet build one and make the video!!!! Thx

Beautiful, great job! I just found your channel but will be looking forward to seeing more of your creations. Do you know what kind of wood this was? And what finish did you use?
@alexanderplaner79602 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words, the wood is aspen. For the finnish i applied a coat of water based stain and then glossy osmo hardwax oil and a coat of wax.

What is your planing stop? Just a notched board you clamp down? That seems to work very well. Nothing is more fun than planing if you have good technique for planing and sharpening.

Awesome job!, thanks for the upload. I wonder how you handle the error tolerance in the whole process like planing flat surfaces or removing twist or planing edges square, etc. Sometimes I struggle getting things “good enough” that I end up not advancing in the project.
@alexanderplaner7960 Жыл бұрын
As a rule, I try to do everything as well as I can but without sacrificing time. You know, sometimes one can spend a ton of extra time perfecting something, yet in the end the difference might be unnoticeable.
