Here's me surviving a frame building project with limited tools and even more limited woodworking abilities. I love the way frames contribute to the presentation of a painting, and they're a lot of fun to make.
The actual ripple moldings are expertly made by Tom Matthews at ripplemolding.com. His work is the reason my frames came out looking presentable.
Fun fact: my mom and dad attended this performance of the Shosty 7. Bernstein was guest conducting in Chicago in 1988, and my dad went to see it while my mom stayed home to take care of my brother and I, ages 3 and 1. The concert was so good that my parents hired a babysitter so they could both see it the second night. I like to imagine it's their coughs caught on tape.
