No joke I started this project in March, hence my fingerless gloves in some of the shots, and finished it in June ಠ▃ಠ But he turned out so good so whatever!!1!11
Also, I just got an adapter for my Mic, so next video will have better audio quality :D

I am a Fjord Horse owner and model horse collector and I just want to say, I loved watching your video! I have considered learning to make my own custom models, but I don't think my poor old hands could do it at my age. I only collect model/figurine Fjord Horses now and I truly appreciate your artistry. My gelding is 19-years-old now and I've had him for 11 years. When Ludvig's coat came out more rough than you wanted, just know it looks just like my horse's coat looks now. After he turned 15, his coat summer coat started growing out slower and more rough (no, he doesn't have PPID, AKA "Cushings," and I have him tested every year), so Ludvig's coat is very accurate. My gelding also has three very smooth gaits, collected and extended, and is truly a pleasure to ride. We train, compete and participate in many disciplines, English, Western and in hand including parades and police work. His registered name with the Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry here in the United States is "Ivor Gjestar" and his barn name is "Officer Butters." Again, you produced an amazing horse and you should be very proud. Anyone would be honored to have such an excellent example of a true Norwegian Fjord Horse in their collection!

Fun little trick I saw when a model has a too broad or narrow forehead if viewed from the front: Chop the head off. Split the head in the middle in a V shape (since the muzzle is usually correct in width). Then either tighten or widen the upper part of your V, depending on what you need. Granted, correcting this and making it smooth takes a while after you sculpted the head back together, but it's the perfect solution for the head-problem. :D Also: Leving your custom for a few days and looking at it again is PERFECT to find issues and make something you're very satisfied with! It helps me greatly to find faults or better options for some things. I can recommend this method VERY much. ^^ I think you really did the most amazing job with this custom. Especially the forelock just looked absolutely perfect as you did it! I can't stop looking at it, it's really perfectly done since it looks great with AND without tack on. Very well done~

Love how sweet your dad is about it! In the future you might want to see if there is the possibility of you getting a Dremmil or Rotery tool to sand off the made in china mark but also to be able to cut them up safely. Less pressure is needed than with a knife so you can prevent cuts but also you can get some tool safety skills and save yourself time! Absolutely lovely work! Your very skilled!

@GingerSnapping
@GingerSnapping Жыл бұрын
@@DaisyStalls Thats totaly valid to be scared to use it! Its a big thing to learn how to use. My best advice would be to go over safety rules with your dad and then pick a project (like maybe making a stable out of wood and using the dremmil to carve it) as a way to get used to it. Respect of power tools is important but if your hesitant to handle them it can be harder on your hands in the long run!

heya ! a tip to help you fix the mistakes when your creating the pose (no sculpting yet), take a picture of the horse and flip the image. I do this while drawing and it helps me a ton to find and fix mistakes. your brain gets super used to seeing the same thing so its much harder to find imperfections so by flipping the image its like seeing it again for the first time :)

Love how this custom turned out! It’s always gorgeous to see how you shade your models and sculpt their manes and tails especially. I live in the U.S but interestingly enough my barn has one fjord horse. She’s a brunblakk mare in her late twenties (named Evie) and when I did ride her she definitely had a strong will power that’s for sure. If she figured something was too much work she would firmly avoid it and nothing I did could change her mind 😅 But other than that, she definitely had a calm demeanor that I really liked because it made it very easy to try different things with her without worrying about spooking.❤
