@@redfoxdog1 Ar-15. Nope, unless the creator does it. Ak-47, M16, M14, S&W .45. RPG, Anti Material rifle. MP5, Steyr Aug 9mm F-16, F-22. Etc etc. There are a plethora of guns and weapon channels on KZfaq. A lot of gun nuts have weird persecution complexes though. Probably from the endless "DEY'RE TAKIN' R GUNZ!" propaganda over the years. (I'm a gun nut too btw which is why I know. No judgment just facts.)

Every time I watch one of these videos I can't help but think you're being held back by the game. Some may argue that's part of the challenge, but it's not really fun to watch something which performs so poorly just because the game is so rigid and prone to random wonkiness. It would be so much more interesting to know what Reid could do with a game which had less limitations.

most the wonkiness comes from Reid more than the game. And it by far doesn't hold him back, it's one of incredibly few games that allow you to build anything you can think of, and not just lock you to ideas like wheels can only be used for wheels or make stuff like a helicopter block and that's the only way to fly. Literally one of the construction games with fewest limitations....

@@RupeeRhod Okay, but, everything explodes if bombs are within the same zipcode as each other and you can't put shields between them to solve that. I'd call that a pretty serious limitation.

@@shufflecat3334 Besiege is already pretty CPU heavy and adding extra stuff like this would really push explosion lag over the top. It's not ideal i agree but technical limitations restrict that, as Rupee said beseige is on of the most physically realistic games already and with even more realistic physics you would start to go into seconds per frame and not frames per second due to it needing to be so general (Specific sims designed for a single purpose could increase framerates but then that defeats the point as it is no longer a sandbox)

Maybe you can make a open bolt machine gun next, I don't know if it is possible in Besiege but it would be cool. Explanation of a open bolt system (I tried my best to explaining it) The striker is attached to the bolt, the bolt is held back and by letting go of the bold it flies forward Is hitting the primer there by firing. after firing a round the bolt is forced to the rear, ejecting the empty casing and the bolt remains held at the rear ready for the next shot

So closed bolt has a bolt, striker/firing pin and hammer while a open bolt just has a bolt-firing pin combo? I assume that it uses belts or something similar that puts the bolt into the breech without it moving. Ex Belt moves bullet inline with breech and bolt, bolt is released and shoves bullet into breech, momentum pushes the firing pin (in this case a small nub at the front of the bolt) into primer, bullet fires and bolt returns to the back

@@barklet6110 An open bolt is pretty much a spring, bolt, firing pin, and trigger. The trigger's only job is to get out of the way of the bolt, and the firing pin is fixed to the front of the bolt, as the bolt closes, is strips a round from the magazine, and as the round enters the chamber, the firing pin hits the primer of the round, and Newton's third law, is that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. The bolt goes back with the same energy as the bullet, however much slower due to inertia, since the bolt is dozens of times heavier then the bullet, and the cycle repeats until you either run out of ammunition or you release the trigger. They are dead simple.

I've made something like this, and it took me a week to finish. It was a recoil semi-automatic machine-gun, and I based it off of the STG44. I would recommend it for content, but not for sanity

This is alot like early automated guns, oddly placed magazines, somewhat archaic yet over complicated mechanisms and they randomly explode. 10/10 would recommend.

Hey, have you ever considered playing From the Depths? Its a sandbox game set on open waters where you can build just about any sort of combat vehicle (or structure and even nuclear missiles)

something that might help you get a proper mag fed gun is using gernades instead of bombs, they have a lower blast radius, cant be set off by pure force, and when set on fire explode

i have an idea try to make a bullet mag where the bullets just drop down then get pushed forward then explode to minimize risk of the other bullets exploding from one of them being shot

Sort of like the Owen gun or Bren gun. The bolt pushes forward and locks ahead of the magazine. When the rifle fires, the bolt pulls back with the round and dumps it out the bottom. The next round falls into that same place and it repeats. This is a type of open bolt system that he actually almost recreated

besiege really needs an explosive that's much less sensitive than a bomb. bombs going off unexpectedly seems to be a problem in almost every build that uses them.
