Unless, you know where a welding shop is, a buddy that works there and minor welding experience. Im a cert structural welder but i don't have equipment of my own, i think campus has these tools so imma try that.

Robert Gemski The engine lathe I saw him use to make the axle isn’t something you can just make without any prior tools. A used engine lathe in ok not terrible condition is maybe 3k for the smaller ones and the bigger older ones I’ve seen for almost 20k if in pristine condition some of the brand new jet lathes I’ve seen are almost 30k. The lathe he had looked old so I’m going to guess it was in the under 10k range didn’t get a close look at it

I am new to your channel. At first I couldn't understand why you used a inverter when you could have just used a dc-to-dc converter, than I thought; maybe he's using it so that he can utilize the built-in speed control and have higher speeds than the voltage that can be provided from the battery without buying a boost converter.. brilliant! Using junk/spare parts and having fun at the same time. You are inspiring to many.

buddy, I have a overboard which has one wheel motor broken. It still has 1 perfectly working brushless motor and a motherboard that, somehow, functions well (I have not have a decent check after I broke it). However, I wanna donate it to you if you want, to make this a truly Hoverboard and bring my board back to life. I like your channel, please make more. Please let me know if you like it. "Making a Onewheel out of junk" would be more fitting because it resembles a Onewheel more than it does a hoverboard.

A friend of mine made one of these but used three narrower tires and the two outside ones were about 26mm smaller in diameter so he could angle the board from side to side in order to make turning easier.

Amazing build, do you guys provide Instructables writeups or something similar? im curious about the guts of the operation, measurements and such, my head is racing with ideas for gyroscopic balance sensors mixed with using a PI and a homemade app. Think "sphero " like control with auto balancing.
