I found a couple of old Farriers rasps (used to file down horse hooves) at a local junk yard and decided to make a knife out of one of them. I started off by heating them up to anneal them to make it easier to work. Then I did a couple of tests for heat treating and found that the steel needed to be quenched in water instead of oil to harden.
I'm really happy with how this turned out!
