The motor underneath lets off a slight smell and it's a little loud kzfaq.infoUgkxCKuMxLnvr6fJd_M4SE-n7trcGj3zEUHq but considering it's size and how hard it works to do the job, it's sort of expected. I assume the smell will go away over time. Overall, I love this cute little blender. The extra cups and lids are great too!

@@piecrumbs9951 It is different from a blender though. It doesn't produce as much friction heat. I worked in a restaurant where we made hand dipped milkshakes and we also made them from soft serve. We had was a large old school Hamilton Beech milkshake mixer that could make three milkshakes at a time. Anyway that machine did a great job of not over without melting. Blenders over mix even on the lower speeds. Still I can't justify a single use appliance. I use my Bamix immersion blender but even on the slow speed it is too much.

@@pioneer2321 I know this is 3 years later, but I don't know about this exact milkshake mixer but I used one on a job I had at a local diner and it could blend the thickest milkshake and it did so without melting it.

Previous comment entirely accurate...vid's good EXCEPT for the insane large amount of milk used; shouldn't be more than a third of that if not less.

Milk shake should be thick, but to cut ice cream cost, at least medium. I'll prefer 250 gms of gelato ice cream and 250 ml of milk. Brings out a smooth but not running ice cream, as it will perfectly fit in the shake glass. Anyway that's my work life, love that Hamilton beach blendtec.

Lmao the comments 😂 everyone is mad that the shake isn’t thick enough, I personally don’t like my shake to be too thick but I do like some thickness to it but to each their own, everyone likes things in different ways, just because I may not like it, it doesn’t mean I need to bash them or anything over their preferences, if they like it like that then awesome!

For most of the folks here who are complaining about how thin the shake is, the title of the video clearly calls it a "milkshake", meaning there's milk added, not just ice cream. Classic diner milkshakes could be drunk through a straw. If it's thick enough that it can't even be poured, it's not a milkshake, it's just soft-serve ice cream being labeled as a "shake" because it was mixed on a shake machine. I personally like both, for different reasons, depending on my mood. If I'm getting one instead of a drink, I want it thinner, like a drink would be. If it's summer and I'm getting one as a dessert, then I want one that's more like ice cream. Plenty of valid reasons to enjoy both.

AFRIEND OF MINE BOUGHT ME AN OLD MILK BAR MILK SHAKE MAKER SOME YEARS BACK. WITH MOVING AND ALL I DONT HAVE IT NOW BUT IT WAS A GREAT MILK SHAKE MAKER. YOU DIDNT NEED ANY ICE CREAM EITHER, JUST MILK AND FLAVOURING AND A TINY BIT OF CREAM. AND THE MILK SHAKE WAS REAL FROTHY. I WISH I STILL HAD THAT OLD MILK SHAKE MAKER. THE ONE I HAVE NOW ISNT ANY GOOD UNLESS THE MILK IS EXTREMELY COLD.

Go to an antique festival, or flea market. Look for a Hamilton Beach model 30. I've had one for over 40 years, and it was at least 25 years old when I bought it!!! They are built to last forever. They weigh about 15-20lbs for a single stem malt machine. Expect to pay about $125.00, NOT $800+!!

Ah. Merica. In Australia, a milkshake is made with milk (shock) and a thickshake is (wait for it) thick. It’s even the naming convention at American food chains. Get together, agree to ban guns and rename chilled dairy beverages and you’ll be surprised how much smoother things run.
