How to dye wood? What ink is used and how is the process? The ink has to penetrate the wood, but all I've used so far only dye the surface.

It's not blue wood, it's natural wood veneer processed and tinted with blue. You can see that in 0:15.

Why would you even consider using color dyed veneers at the first step of building the mosaic log. A handcrafted Classical Guitar is already close to being a piece of Fine Art. Would you use a crayon to create a Painting? It's time to be creative and incorporate some natural wood veneers like sycamore, satinwood, maple, padauk, & from the wood already present in the instrument, etc. This is not a "paint by number" picture we're painting here! I could never understand what many Luthiers were thinking here.

Because in Spain, the guitar has a headstock that reminds of the cathedral towers; the bridge are the steps before the entrance; the guitar's main hole is the large round window above the entrance, and is decorated with intricate stained glass. Therefore the elaborate mosaic-like stained wood pieces are used. If you leave out stained glass, then the cathedral may be reduced to a small and poor church; nothing wrong with it. But the rosette has its place in great, traditionally handmade guitars.
