How you going? I made a supersonic nerf gun that also shoots tampons... useful huh? Now before you say that cant actually be supersonic where is your proof. I have solid proof in the video... it as solid as my reasoning for making this in the first place.

The tampon gun is designed for minimal lethality. Upon entry, the tampon expands, filling the wound to prevent excessive bleeding. Tampons are also sterile, so there's no chance of infection. The pressure from the expanded tampon would slow bleeding. It's perfect. Edit: Actually, as it turns out, the idea that tampons can plug bullet holes is an urban legend. They cannot. When trying to prevent massive hemorrhage, absorbing blood isn't what you want. You want to stop bleeding with pressure, which tampons cannot do.

The loud pop you heard with the Nerf Dart was most likely the foam after impact. Rapid compression creates heat in the foam and pops. I've even seen them ignite on impact. Sweet HPA Blaster.

Yeah, I can't see how compressed air can move faster than the speed of sound, unless perhaps in a vacuum. Speed of sound comes from mean time to impact in the material, speed of sound should be higher in a higher pressure, but I doubt it will be significant by the end of the barrel. But I admit I have to read up on this.

Fun fact: Tampons are the shape they are because their initial purpose was to plug bullet wounds in WWI. The nurses eventually found out that the things were great at absorbing period blood and thus the modern tampon was born

Not true. What you just said is a myth. Tampons were created to help women to deal with menstruation aka that time of the month. How the bullet myth got started was due to it being included in first aid kits. In case of the owner of the kit met a woman on her cycle. What you just claimed is very similar to one of the myths surrounding condoms. As in they were supposedly created to help soldiers keep their rifles clean. When both items were actually invented thousands of years ago. Well before the invention of the firearms.

If you have two chambers you can fill the first chamber up to a high pressure, then through a gate valve you can charge the firing chamber and then close the valve to retain your air source for multiple shots without returning to the pump.

This reminds me of this old toy gun I had that shot hollow rubber bullets really fast. Turns out that a standard push-tack fit inside the shells perfectly and could penetrate walls (and flesh, obviously) at over 20 feet when simply inserted in the barrel backwards.

It reminds me of a time when I have found a perfect fit for a 22 calibre bullet... Long story short: I found a 22 calibre bullet when I was young. Later I found a copper pipe. I duct-taped the door handle to that pipe and decided to shoot that bullet by inserting it in my handmade contraption and hitting it with the small hammer... The copper pipe was slightly bent, so the bullet stuck inside it and the bullet's shell shot back into my face :D I ended up with a hole in my lower lip and losing one tooth...
