I’m curious, I’d like to start modding myself but I don’t know what the legal implications are if I sell a homage with an aftermarket Seiko dial. Can someone give me their advice.

First of all, when you sell it you must make it clear that this watch is a custom made - modification. Not a watch manufactured by Seiko. Listing the parts you use will be good too. For example aftermarket Seiko dials are more valuable than cheaper Chinese dials from Ali. There are plenty on groups on FB for the mod sales, including FB marketplace

do you know if the the SD1970 takes the same sized bezel insert as other SKX/NH mods?

I had trouble finding bezel inserts for this model..

to change the bezel on this steeldive, you need a bezel with these sizes: 38.00mm ext, 32.10mm int, 1.20mm thickness. the closest i found is for an SKX and is: 38.00mm ext, 32.15mm int, 1.20mm thickness. it could work with little tricks.

You need a movement holder and get rid of that microfibre cloth.

@@ShortBetter i know that feeling. I was using one like that as well. If you have a 3d printer, theres a good nh35/36 model on printables available which works for both sides of the movement including the mounted dial and hands.

@kanONE1984 Unfortunately, I don't have one. And the holder I bought feels terrible. The movement doesn't sit tight in it😬
