I searched your name hearing you from a snip of sermons. I lost my 35 year career in the beauty industry. I'm starting over but procrastinating on what to do next had the thought 3 years ago on a new career but I was afraid. I finally had to ... Being put through the test fighting fear, procrastinating, depression. I day every day I choose life but walking with cinder block shoes. I think a really important step before Nehemiah even started to plan was he didn't quit his day job and he continued to nurture good relationships with those that would make his plan happen. I'm not sure if that was in the Sermon and maybe I missed it... but I think it's important enough to bring up again regardless.

Amen! Thank God I found pastor Warren on KZfaq. I was searching for a good pastor on KZfaq. Came across one of his videos regarding the loss of his son. I related right away, having a mental breakdown 2 years ago. Got diagnosed Bipolar, PTSD, manic, depressed. I didn’t sleep one minute for about a year. The things I thought, the voices I heard…. Before that breakdown, I was selfish, & had a lot of hate in my heart. God taught me a lesson, opened my eyes. Thank you Lord for letting me go through that hell to open my eyes, to see what’s what & who’s who. Thank you for putting love in my heart & giving me another opportunity to be the best version of myself. Lord knows, I could of ended up in jail, the streets, or dead while I was losing my mind. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

I have addictions I need to overcome first and only then will God reveal to me more of his plan for my life. Even though I know he’s there, God stays quiet. God is firm on his plans for you, skipping steps is not an option.

Right now my plan is taking care of me, health wise. When I have trouble with anything I ask God to help me...also some people are limited in there circumstances physically and financially...you can only do so much till God provides more...

I echo the emphatic appreciation for this message that I see in the comments. Yes! Thank you, Rick Warren, for providing words of wisdom I really needed to hear!! I cherish my relationship with God, I'm being responsible, and I know I'm doing a lot of things right. What I'm not doing, is following A Plan. And that's because I don't have one, with specific action steps, like Nehemiah's Seven-Step Plan. Even if you're doing well, if you're not where you want to be, and you know it's fully possible for you to do much better, coasting and hoping won't get it done. You must create your plan for success and work that plan to succeed!

Pastor Rick! Thank you for all of your sermons. I always get so much out of them. Very inspirational. Could you make a video about how to deal with an abusive family? Leaving such abuse comes with much guilt and confusion. I know I"m not the only one experiencing this. I know I need to forgive them It is very difficult. I really want to know what God says about this. I try to understand the Bible. Your sermons help me to understand it much better. Thank you for all that you do. You have made such a difference in my life.

Mr Ahart, yes, you are correct. That is why Pastor Rick stated to pray. Because when we pray, God will guide you and put in your heart His plans as though your plans (in a sense) & your plans will come together with our LORD'S plan for us. That is why prayer is essential. You can even ask your brother's and sister's in Christ to pray for you also. To open your heart to our LORD'S will for your life, etc... May the grace and favor of our sovereign and almighty LORD be with you endlessly

One thing that I did notice is pastor did leave off that when we plan we need to pray that our plan aligns with the will of the father bc our plans may not turn out the way we expected bc it wasn't part of god's plan.

I will listen to this message though I have a lot of accumulated anger - not at Rick - but at my overall Christian upbringing that basically told me I didn't matter and that if I had dreams and made plans to achieve them then I was playing God. For the most part, I reject a lot of Church teaching on how to live successfully as I was told that God was more interested in my character than my dreams and abilit0ies. A "Christian' psychologist told me that God was more interested in my faithfulness than my success. For me, Church teaches men to be wimps and has little to say about earthly success. Will learn what I can but simultaneously curious and suspicious of what Pastor R will say.

Hey John, I can relate to what you said. Being a Christian does not mean to not pursue your dreams and passion. Being a Christian means that you develop a relationship with God who will empower you to achieve your dreams while also pursuing a path of righteousness and kindness. The crucial aspect here is what is your definition of success? Is it shaped by what mainstream media defines or by what your heart defines? Personally, success means living a purposeful life which brings value not only to myself but also facilitates the growth of the society as a whole. There is nothing wrong with pursuing success but many times we idolize materialistic success and run behind money or prestige while negating values of ethics and righteousness. And I can guarantee you... once you follow true Christian ideals of discipline, conviction, faith, kindness, righteousness, positivity and truth, your success is guaranteed. Point is to prioritize God, not materialistic success. For once God is your priority, your life is in order. And once your life is in order, your success is guaranteed.

Colossians 3vs2 ] Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. The good news of the Gospel is for us to get to our True Home in eternity and NOT to seek things of this very temporary life here in this age of man's rule of this world. I believe in do your job in this life and being fullfiled but this life should be very much a far second place in our desires.
