I'm with you! I ruined 5 Gallons of watermelon mead by getting it to hot. I have dried oaking it charcoal and nothing has helped. I will not try pasteurizing again unless I get a sous vide machine.

The plum extract is called Maesil Cheong (Korean) that is fermented (like most other Korean foods). Believe it or not people mix this into their tea as a form of medicine for an upset stomach. Anyways, this really seems delicious.

As a bee keeper I wonder how many acres of pumpkins it would take to get the bees just to focus on them alone! Another great video, I learned a lot and have my first three gallons of mead in primary ferment along with two gallons of cider. I’m looking forward to racking and aging!

I suggest working in grams of cinnamon sticks. Don’t have my numbers memorized, but I add a certain weight for batch size. Never had an overpowering effect and usually lands just right. I can leave it months and not worry.

This actually sounds delicious. Definitely could see it being hard to balance everything to get it just right but it sounds great. I know this was just to test everything at random but I would make this just with a different honey.

Hey man big fan of your work and I have a question Yesterday I was making my first mead and it was my first time interacting with an airlock so a little sanitization liquid fell into my mead, will that ruin or affect it? I have 2. 1 gallon bags of plums chopped up in my freezer but didn't know what to do with them. They were all really ripe and kind of soft but no mold or anything Nasty looking things on them when I washed them and cut them up any ideas? Maybe this recipe

You should bla bla bla, who's teaching who here!? Hahaha You sir, should enjoy anything you do . And on that note you do you. Lol. Is real pumpkin too hard to work with or impart that end resulting flavour we all look for? I see alot of ppl having little to no success with that particular fruit.
