Күн бұрынThis week, I decided to fuel my puppetry hyperfixation even more, and do something I've wanted to do for YEARS! Using @PuppetNerd 's free puppet patterns, I designed and built my very own puppet character! This was my first large scale puppet build, and I had a TON of fun. It was definitely a great learning experience, and I picked up lots of things that I can apply to future projects! Don't forget to LIKE, COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE!

Fur pro tip; gently brush out the loose fur bits with a hairbrush after you cut the fabric out. It will keep the hair from shedding as you sew it together :)

4:10 Probably best not to use scissors because you'd be cutting the long fur from the fleece as well. I'd normally use a razor blade or some of those blades that are in a cardboard cutter. It's still turned out fantastic but that's just something i'd do if I wanted to make future puppets with that fleece. (hides the seems more easier)

I'm 2 years late to this but! I really enjoyed seeing your process! I've also made a puppet using one of Adams tutorials (I don't have a printer so I had to make my own patterns 😬) it was hard but also very rewarding and I love my puppet! I love yours too! Oatmeal is great!

So happy I found this channel :) Puppets could up my cosplay game. Also have you ever been to Dragoncon? Its a Comicon, but they also have a huge puppet focus there.

I've never heard of Dargoncon, but that sounds AWESOME! And YES! At some point I plan to cosplay Hiccup from HTTYD, and I would LOVE to make a Toothless puppet to carry around with me!

Ahh, so now you undersand the monetary risk of buying fabric/fur buy the yard... Also one other method for pupils you could do is cutting the pupils out of googly eyes. They come in multiple sizes so it's good for different sized puppets

It is very difficult to build puppets and make them LOOK GOOD. This was her first attempt, and I'm sure she thinks the same way, but knows she can do better sooner or later :)
